Extending the eligibility for Legislators to vote
#11

I mean, I do think its relevant to note that we originally did this so that people wouldn't move here *specifically* to run for office. Idk we still care, but I think it's germane to the discussion.

More specifically the concern was people moving here to vote in elections. Imperialists importing some allies to back a pro-Imp candidate, for instance.

I'd rather not open the door to any possibility of mid-election importation. And besides, does this really affect anyone? I'm not sure how frequent these cases are, but I doubt the extra three days will affect more than a couple players. And it's not like having to sit out an election they probably just learned about is going to be devastating for recruitment.

I think this is quite a fair point, the only people it really benefits are said people bringing in allies for elections, and they'd probably do it earlier anyways to make it seem less like foreign influence...

Same for the new members, the only new members who will arrive in this period are the exact same members who don't know anything about the election and probably wouldn't (and shouldn't) vote anyways.

Good points. I'll withdraw this amendment.
