PRESS RELEASE APPOINTMENT OF THE MINISTER OF REGIONAL AFFAIRS 26 August 2020 Fellow South Pacificans, On 23 August, Erinor (also known as Seraph) resigned from his position as the Minister of Regional Affairs, leaving a vacancy more than midway through the current term. Resolved to fill the vacancy in the interim, the Cabinet invokes Article 6, Section 1 of the Elections Act to appoint an experienced and qualified legislator to serve as the Minister of Regional Affairs for the remainder of the term. As such, the Cabinet appoints PenguinPies, a former Cabinet minister and current member of the Council on Regional Security, as the Minister of Regional Affairs. She most recently served as Minister of Regional Affairs in the previous term after the resignation of Jay Coop on 18 May and demonstrated the necessary leadership qualities considerable of the position. We believe that PenguinPies is more than capable of completing the term and ensuring a smoothly run Ministry of Regional Affairs.
