Cabinet Agenda
#1

Hi everyone,

In my campaign I promised to set a precedent for future Prime Ministers by releasing a coherent Cabinet Agenda to the Assembly, detailing what we are going to do this term and how.
I'd like to get ideas from everyone, specifically the Ministers, on what we can accomplish this half-term, and once we get that we can start making it sound pretty Smile

Alright, so in the SPSF...................

I want to actually get more work done on the community aspect of the SPSF.  I want to get the roleplay started up, start doing weekly activities (and not forgetting!) with the SPSF.  I'll also see about reminding people to suggest songs for the playlist since I did that at the beginning of the term and only got a few songs from everyone before it was kinda forgotten.

Oh, and weekly detag runs at minor update on like Saturday or something, and perhaps a detag run with one of our allies.  Maybe see if we can get something with the RRA, or EPSA, or NPA, or FNR, or UDS, or TGW, or anyone else?  I'd personally lean for someone we haven't done anything of the sort with yet.

Defender festival would be something to do like next term, if I do win a re-election (or helping out whoever ends up the next MoMA, if I don't win a re-election.)

Edit: Adding Warzone Australia to the agenda as well.

I'm considering expanding ambassadorial positions to another four regions and adding a sixth Secretary of State.

Furthermore, I'm in talks with my TRR counterpart on whether to update our bilateral treaty with defender provisions.

As for the bloc, this term has been spent on getting TRR, XKI, and UDS interested in the bloc. I can go into more details about this in the Situation Room or by DM, whichever is more convenient.

PRESS RELEASE

CABINET AGENDA

05 SEPTEMBER 2020

Fellow South Pacificans,

In my campaign for Prime Minister, I promised to work especially hard at creating a transparent and accessible Cabinet. While every Prime Minister has advocated transparency, I hope to go above and beyond. This is no easy task. Though it is only a first step, I hope that this press release will be a model for the future. I hope that making public releases a formalized, regular promise to the people of the South Pacific will be maintained not only for the duration of my term, but further into the future as well.

Therefore, we are herein setting forth before you a formal Cabinet Agenda, detailing what we plan on accomplishing in the remainder of this term and how we intend to go about it. Please do not hesitate to ask any questions about the agenda items in the thread below.

Prarie
Prime Minister of the South Pacific

Foreign Affairs

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs will be spending the second half of this term, as it has been for the first half, continuously building up a stronger network of relations with the defender world. The Minister is already engaged in discussion with our close ally The Rejected Realms to enshrine the values of defenderism into our current bilateral treaty, and at the behest of the Prime Minister is looking into discussions with the Free Nations Region.

Perhaps most importantly, the Minister is also engaged in providing the foundation for one of the main promises of both his and the Prime Minister’s agendas: an organized coalition, or bloc, of defender regions, in part focused on outreach and growing the size of defenderdom. This project is immense in scale, so the Minister plans to work first on establishing the groundwork and mutual understanding between the South Pacific and our defender allies.

Finally, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs is considering expanding the current roster of ambassadorial positions to include four new regions, with an additional new Secretary of State for oversight. This development will make use of the South Pacific’s current activity to strengthen our perception and connections abroad.

Military Affairs

The Minister is planning for a vibrant remainder of the term. Her agenda will focus first on developing the community and culture of the Special Forces. She plans to initiate a roleplay element to the SPSF, intends to begin a program of weekly fun activities for SPSF members, and will revive the SPSF music playlist that was established at the beginning of her term.

As another method of harnessing regional spirit, the Ministry will endeavor to liberate Warzone Australia, a small and purposefully volatile game-created region that is currently held by forces of Lardyland. Bringing South Pacifican values and institutions to Warzone Australia may allow for the development of a meaningful and positive community in a current semi-wasteland.

In terms of defense operations, the Special Forces will organize detag runs — that is, removing raider vandalism from many small regions in quick succession — on a weekly basis. These detag runs will also provide an opportunity for our forces to cooperate with allies, such as the Rejected Realms Army or Union of Democratic States Armed Forces, and even with our non-defender allies, such as the North Pacific Army and East Pacific Sovereign Army.

Regional Affairs

Minister Penguin is currently performing an assessment of the status of the Ministry’s many projects. The remainder of her term will be guided both by the agenda set out by former Minister Seraph at the beginning of the term, and by the interests of the Ministry fellows themselves.

Rabbitz, a Ministry fellow, will be reviving and continuing his work on the South Pacific wiki project. The Ministry also plans to continue the regional theme project and discussion, led by project lead Somyrion. Currently moving through public discussion, this project aims to build a more vibrant and present theme for the region, inspired by real-life Polynesia.

Cabinet

The Cabinet as a whole plans to enact a new level of transparency, delivering regular reports to the public. These will include weekly Ask-Me-Anything (AMA) chats and the consistent publication of Cabinet Twitter updates.

With the likely approach of a split in the Ministry of Regional Affairs at the end of this term, the Cabinet will devote special time to aiding in and finalizing the technical details of the split. This will include discussions of necessary infrastructure changes, workflow modeling, and generating public enthusiasm for the new ministries. Related to this point, the Cabinet has also begun to discuss outlines of a new unified server.

Faithfully yours,

The Cabinet
