Abolish the Local Council

The Border Control Authorization is what the LC uses to pre-authorize the CRS to expel spammers.

Would you prefer the RMB to wait around until the Delegate makes the request?

Sorry - I'm in favor of adding the admin team as a body that can ask for a ban, not in favour of the parts that try and remove the Local Council.

I always believed that the LC was created so that we could divide and conquer moderation with the Admin team moderating Discord and the forum and the LC moderating the game-side. If that is the case, then I believe the Admin team will fail if they had to do both considering that not many Discorders and forumers venture out into the RMB, if at all. The solution, as I see it, would have the Admin team divided in which some would moderate the game-side, and some to the forum and Discord. It would, inevitably, leave some of the Admin team on their own to watch all three, to keep up with the daily updates about the Assembly on Discord and the forum, while some watching as they did before. I don't think we want this.

If I'm talking out my fwoof, please tell me so I can try to make a lesser fool out of myself.

The Local Council was created to grand the gameside community a level of self-governance. The fact that it has become almost entirely an elected moderation team is a result of its natural evolution, not of any design on the part of the Assembly.

Do we elect our forum admins/moderators?

We do not, and for good reason. Moderation should never be a popularity contest.

Exactly, why should our Gameside moderators be elected aswell? They shouldn't.

This substantially misses the point. And, conflates the role of administrators and moderators. We have no control over the admin team in NS.

If we want to extend the admin/mod teams on the forum and discord to in-game, that's a discussion to be had, but I'm of the same mind set as Nakari, that is separate from disbanding the LC.

I'm not in favor of removing the LC. Just their ban requesting powers, as I put in my first post in this thread.

You prefer the LC not be able to ask that spammers be banned?  How does this improve the region?

I'm ambivalent about the rest of it, but the Local Council's moderation functions are probably one of the few things most can agree it's good for. Stripping out the ban request really renders the whole of gameside moderation toothless.
