mOfaMEGA: Geauxing Onwards- Together
#1

Howdy friends and colleagues,

I want to begin this campaign by addressing a very simple fact: I will remain on what I have termed "low power mode" until November 7th due to my work on a real-life campaign to flip a seat in the Texas House. I want to be upfront about that so all y'all are aware of that when making your decision in this election. Now, on to my hopes and plans for the next four months.

A Ministry That Works
I have been impressed in the work Jay has done to ensure the continued viability of our Secretary fo State program and the role of the Ambassadors as being more than just mouthpieces and instead, continuing to work to build genuine relationships in the regions they represent us in. At the commencement of the term, I do intend to make all Secretary of State posts open and allow for open applications to ensure we have the best of the best in those roles. This is not a criticism of any current Secretary, simply an effort to ensure our Secretaries remain the creme de la creme of those working in our Foreign Affairs sector of the civil service. I remain committed, however, to ensuring we keep a vibrant Ambassador program under the Secretaries so as Minister I can remain focused on relationships with senior officials of other regions and diplomatic efforts of the Coalition while also ensuring our presence abroad is not diminished as a consequence.

Diplomacy That Works
My foreign policy ideology is where it always has been: we should be friendly with all who are willing to be friendly with us and we should pursue deeper relationships with those who share our values of Defenderism, popular sovereignty, and liberal governance. When we combine those values with long-standing trust and mutual commitment to security, we can look at renewed and deeper alliances that will not only strengthen us but will strengthen the cause of Defenderism and liberal governance across gameplay. When we take an active role in the pursuit of these values, we can change the narrative upon which all other regions base their foreign policy.

I am open to all questions and look forward to getting to discuss my platform with y'all in the coming days as I look to receive your trust to represent us to the rest of the world. Please post questions here or, if you would rather, shoot me a DM on discord and I am happy to have a conversation.

Join me, and let's geaux onwards- together.

Above all else, I hope to be a decent person.

Fantastic campaign. My only question is how do you plan on recruiting more ambassadors? If I'm not mistake, we do have quite a few spots open for ambassadorship.

I think unifying the discord will make it easire to recruit as well as simply making sure we particpate in any Cabinet wide recruitment initiatives. I will also evaluate how many people we have apply and may reduce our number of assignments for Ambassadors depending on the number of applications.
Above all else, I hope to be a decent person.

What will you do to cut back the government bureaucracy which is strangling freedom in this great region?

I'd be interested to understand how you would privatize foreign policy. Foreign policy is an action that may only be carried out by the state, and the only legitimate user of state authority is the government.
Above all else, I hope to be a decent person.

I had been wanting to see you become MoFA even back in 2018, and during your previous tenure I was not disappointed in the least. I'm very excited to see you take another stab at it, and look forward to what you do with it.

Thank you for being so forward about this aspect. Given that this really just affects the first two weeks of the term, and the ministry is already in place and working (mostly as you left it, even), and your obligations during transition can be hashed out quickly, I don't see an issue with this at all, tbh.

Will you establish new embassies, or will you strengthen the current ones?

The goal for me at this point is to strengthen and build upon the relationships we already have, not forge new ones.

There are many potential allies, especially defender, that could help us strengthen our FA prescense - will you reach out to them?

I'm not opposed to expanding our alliances but the focus needs to be on strengthening existing ties. Additionally, our FA presence is among the strongest in the game. Strengthening it, with no other goal in doing so, is not a priority at this point. The priority is building on our relationships we already have.
Above all else, I hope to be a decent person.
