[IC] The Inspection's Interjection
#11

Enter relations?! How in God's name could people willingly feel emotions for a soulless creature? These people were beyond saving. Borgström's thoughts ran rampant as the robot explained. Tuuc also couldn't comprehend, they revealed to be more and more alien to them with each passing second.

"How... interesting... We come from the Treecuu Star Empire and Stoinian Star Kingdom roughly 400..."

A message spoke over the intercom from the bridge and interrupted the Commodore.

"Commodore, 4 incoming ships. Same configuration."

"Bridge. Yellow alert."

A trap. Both Borgström and Tuuc had the same idea. Tuuc nodded at Borgström for he knew that his hostility would be what they would expect by now. He needed to keep the cold calculative side a mystery from the Gaurathi. He still had his cloaked ships, but he wasn't too eager to reveal those yet. Borgström then unsheathed his sword from his belt and pointed it at the Gaurathi. The Stoinian and Treecuu guards too pointed their guns at Gaurathi delegation.

"Now listen here you, binary face. Order your ships back and state the meaning of their arrival before I cut your circuitry."

Tuuc thought the Stoinians approach to be extreme, but considering the situation, he had no objections to it.

The two Gaurathi dove behind their robot guardian, who got out of the chair and rose to its full height. With a sour look on its visor, the Peacekeeper addressed the Stoinian and the Treecuu in a deep tone:

"What is the meaning of this? We meant no harm to you; those ships are exploration vessels. If you'd like, this platform can send you their full status reports.
"Ai virskliye, this platform even left its weapons on the Klvasa!"

Borgström, Tuuc, and their guards can see that it wore no weapons.

Borgström wasn't convinced and neither was Tuuc. For all they know the synth was lying, what constituted a weapon? Perhaps the ship itself was a ramming bomb. Borgström was all but patient with such insolence.

"What is the meaning of this? Why I was going to ask you the same question."

Borgström stretched his arm so his sword came closer to synth. Tuuc than looked inquisitively at the synth and asked it.

"You expect us to believe that you have good intentions? What do you define as good? Those collars certainly aren't appealing and we have to believe that they help your "organics"? We strive for freedom, why should we even bother with a species that doesn't even understand the basic concept such as freedom?"

Tuuc too asked questions while looking ever so inquisitive.

"I have to remind you that this is still a military vessel. We have no reason but to expect the worst of you. Especially with these collars your organics wear... One might think that you wish to assimilate us."

"Assimilate? Sir, with all due respect, we are not monsters."

The Synth backed up to the door frame, maintaining eye contact with Borgström.

"This platform apologizes for wasting your time. Perhaps you may wait here in orbit while we deliberate whether to maintain contact. Have a pleasant rotation period, Senior Captain."

8653 walked out of the room, its organic wards in tow.

Tuuc answered with a smile, though it could easily be seen as a villainous smile.

"Likewise, Peacekeeper. Perhaps it's for the best."

The Gaurathi delegation left the room and as the door closed, Borgström faced the Treecuu Commodore. His eyes still flaming with hatred.

"Commodore?! What the hell was that?"

"It appears this star nation is subject to the Great Nullification. Most... Concerning..."

"The Great what now?"

"The Great Nullification. It's a terminology within the Treecuu Star Empire that signifies the surpassing of artificial lifeforms over biological ones. To prevent it, the Star Empire has forbidden research and ongoing project to a certain extent within that domain. I take it the Stoinians have similar values? Since you have shown complete and utter hostility towards them ever since you first saw them."

Borgström was silent for a moment. As if Tuuc had poked something sensitive.

"We Stoinians have no love for synthetic lifeforms. Like you we have laws to prevent what you call the Great Nullification. But our hatred stems from the Velutarian War when the Velutarians modified Stoinians to be fighting machines for them. And they even..."

Borgström needed a pause. The wound was still to great, even after all these years...

"They even took my own Jesca... Forcing me to kill her... We need to send a message to these people, Sir."

This was one of the taboos within Stoinian society that no one openly spoke about. The stain and pain was still too deep. People forced to kill their own family while fighting, but also after the war. When people were liberated from most of their cybernetic implants, they asked their loved ones to kill them for they couldn't bear the pain that they had lived. Even those put in rehabilitation centres sometimes committed suicide as the deeds they were forced to do were to much. They couldn't override their programming and were traumatized for life. It was one of those things no one spoke openly about.
Tuuc saw the troubled Stoinian Captain and wanted to give him a good lecture on discipline. However, this situation was anything but nominal and he couldn't help but grow sympathy for his Stoinian partner. He thought to himself... The Great Nullification is a threat to all biological life. If not through outright conquest, through subversion like with these organics. NO! Diplomacy wasn't an option. A message needs to be sent as the shield and sword of the Empire!

"Under any other circumstance I would have had you reprimanded, Senior Captain. This Great Nullification however... Is a threat to all our star nations. It is therefore that I agree with you."

Tuuc then clicked on the holographic sphere and opened a communication line to his whole squadron.

"All Stoinian vessels, fire upon the Klvassa in 5 T-minutes. Target its power sources and leave no pieces intact. Cloak group, remain in position. Commodore, Tuuc out"

Tuuc then turned to Borgström.

"Captain, I believe its in both our nations interested if the Gaurathi delegation doesn't escape. Take a squad of Marines and take the organics as hostages. The synth must be eliminated at once, we can't let him inform his government of our actions."

"Right away, Sir."

The Stoinian then ran towards the hangar. Tuuc remained in the room for a few heartbeats, savouring the battle that was to come. Maybe this promotion isn't going to be so bad after all. Commodore Tuuc, Vanguard against the Great Nullification! I can certainly adjust to that role... Tuuc then made his way towards this bridge.

5 minutes later...

When the Gaurathi delegation entered the hangar, they were surprised to face Senior Captain Borgström again. Escorted by 20 Treecuu Marines no less. Borgström then walked towards the synth as it was stupefied and its monitor reflecting it.

"Senior Captain Borgström, what is the meaning of this? We were just on our wa...."

The RFS Oteel had gone to red alert and the hangar flared with red lights. It was then that the synth realized what just had happened. They had fired upon the Klvassa. As it was processing its next course of action and contacting his ship, he saw Stoinian Captain reach for his sword. Had he not been processing so much information, he would have time to prepare, but Borgström wasted no such time and immediately slashed his sword towards the synth's neck. In one swift sweep, the Stoinian had "decapitated" the synth and the reptilian organics let out a high pitch screech. It had appeared they had entered a sort of panic attack. Regardless of how irritating it was, Borgström continued to cut off the legs of the synth. Its head may have been an decorative element and perhaps it was still fully functional. He ordered the Treecuu Marines as he punched the reptilians and heavily stamped on their collars.

"Dismember the synth's arms and drain his power. Goddammit, stun these space lizards and take of their collars."

The synth was further cut to pieces and brought to engineering to drain its power. The two Gaurathi organics were brought to a brig and were successfully disconnected from their collars. One could never be too careful with these creatures... Borgström then joined Tuuc on the bridge. By then the Klvassa vessel was destroyed and nothing but its wreckage remained.

"Ah, Senior Captain Borgström. I take it all is taken care off. I must say, these MAC- cannons of yours are quite a formidable weapon."

"They won us the Velutarian War. Are the other Gaurathi vessels approaching?"

"Yes. However, they will face the full power of the Treecu Star Empire."

"Very well then, I will be transporting back to my ship then."

"Before you do that. Take one of the Gaurathi organics with you. As a gift of the Treecuu Star Empire, I'm sure our governments can agree to use these assets as tools for information. I believe sharing any of it will also be in order."

"I believe so. The Treecuu have once again proven to be worthy allies, Commodore Tuuc."

"Likewise, Senior Captain Borgström."

Borgström left the bridge and had taken Ancik with him. By then, the Gaurathi had fainted due to all the stress. Borgström thought to himself as he flew back to his ship. How pathetic... They even lost their stomach for combat.

10 minutes later...

Later the 4 Gaurathi Exploration vessels had engaged the Stoinian ships. Their MAC rounds had severely depleted their shields, but up close they might have had a chance. When their ships entered their weapons range, they fired upon the Stoinian vessels and were caught off-guard as the Treecuu ships decloaked. It took them another 6 minutes to fully destroy the ships. Their numerical advantage had really helped. Some Stoinian and Treecuu vessels had taken some damage, but nothing that couldn't be repaired in a day or two. This battle was a first taste on Gaurathi capabilities, but also joint warfare between the Treecuu and Stoinians. However glorious this battle might have been, it became clear to both Officers that this incident, dubbed the Klvassa Incident, would remain classified until a proper cover up story would be made. Both governments had to keep their good relations with the Drakari and Ryccians and they likely wouldn't look kindly upon such violence. For now, they maintained course towards the other star nation. They wouldn't be followed as for all intents and purposes, the Gaurathi organics would be considered dead. Though, before their ultimate demise, they might know fear and pain... All dependant on their cooperation. For now however, the 11th Joint Squadron would make its way towards what they would later discover to be the Kerbal Republic.

The Treecuu and Stoinian Order was once again imposed within the Sector of A1-0, though not many would know of it...
