Discord discussion on the release of the thread:
Quote:[3:23 PM] Luca: Looks like you have another fire @WS got deja vu.
[3:24 PM] WS got deja vu.: ?
[3:24 PM] WS got deja vu.: what one is this
[3:25 PM] Luca: https://tspforums.xyz/thread-9544.html
[3:25 PM] HumanSanity: I will say I am entirely comfortable releasing the private conversation about the Cabinet recommendation (or lack thereof) on the vote
[3:26 PM] WS got deja vu.: god dammit glen
[3:26 PM] WS got deja vu.: god fucking dammit don't start this shit agian
[3:26 PM] Luca: I think Glen is nearly the only one with a problem so
[3:26 PM] WS got deja vu.: yeah
[3:26 PM] Luca: I would say that the delegate vote accurately represents TSP by volume
[3:26 PM] Luca: Overriding that for a handful of people is relatively corrupt
[3:27 PM] Luca: A number of government people including ministers and CRS members have been in the discussion thread supporting the resolution
[3:27 PM] HumanSanity: I personally will say regarding Glen’s request: I am more comfortable with releasing the conversation and position I took than the shroud of secrecy making things look far worse than they are when, on the whole and in spite of our disagreements, I think everyone in the Cabinet handled themselves highly appropriately in the procedure and debate of the issue
[3:27 PM] Luca: It's unfortunate that OWL missed this (or any) vote, but there isn't an agenda here as is being suggested.
[3:28 PM] Luca: Yeah, imo make everything public because the next thing you know, Glen is going to go off an suggest that cabinet is couping the region or some shit.
[3:29 PM] HumanSanity: I don’t think he’s suggesting that or going to. But I think transparency is best since I’m fine with how the Cabinet handled the issue. OWL’s negligence is a failure of process, not judgement.
[3:31 PM] Luca: Idk, if I actually think he would, but based on the constant incendiary rhetoric over this term and the weeks leading up to it where every small detail is a life threatening crisis that leads to insults, blame, and personal attacks, my patience for this particular individual is pretty spent.
[3:34 PM] HumanSanity: I’m following WS’ lead. But personally am fine with releasing everything and answering whatever clarification questions are asked
[3:35 PM] HumanSanity: Moon and Tin are asleep but also did not voice an opinion earlier
[3:45 PM] HumanSanity: Also, unless there is information unknown to me, the Cabinet has not interacted with Beepee about the vote button they have currently pressed, which should be publicly clarified
[5:56 PM] WS got deja vu.: https://tspforums.xyz/thread-9537-post-2...#pid218685  also posted in the sit room thread abt this
[5:57 PM] WS got deja vu.: the delegate vote does represent the aggregate will of TSP,
[5:57 PM] WS got deja vu.: and i'm also ok with making stuff public
[5:57 PM] WS got deja vu.: just so we can clear up any controversy. No we have not talked with beepee.
[5:57 PM] WS got deja vu.: and we never gave OWL any directive on what to do -
[6:01 PM] HumanSanity: I would release the thread with a brief statement saying
- the Cabinet did discuss whether to override the normal process, but ultimately chose not to intervene as the vote presented no imminent foreign affairs or security risk. Anyone who wishes to audit that process can review the thread.
- we did not give OWL a directive to open the vote
- we did not give Beepee a directive on how to vote
- we do not intend to revise our previous decision to allow the OWL/Delegate voting process to proceed as normal
- we are opening a discussion about OWL (dys)function and institutional reform as this event has demonstrated that is needed, independently of this issue
[6:04 PM] Little Miss Sunshine: say have already opened imo
[6:04 PM] WS got deja vu.: yeah i can do it
[6:04 PM] HumanSanity: Yeah, "have already opened" true
[6:04 PM] WS got deja vu.: i'll release the thread from situation room
[6:04 PM] WS got deja vu.: with a statemetn in glen's thread
[6:05 PM] HumanSanity: We should also likely release this Discord conversation about releasing the thread if we wish to maintain full transparency.
[6:05 PM] WS got deja vu.: yeah
[6:05 PM] HumanSanity: Does the PM have authority to release it on their own or do you need sign offs?
[6:06 PM] WS got deja vu.: I think I have authority to do it
[6:07 PM] WS got deja vu.: i think this falls under vi (3) of the charter + sorta sunshine i guess
[6:07 PM] WS got deja vu.:
(3) As leader of the Cabinet, the Prime Minister is responsible for overseeing a collective Cabinet agenda, and may give directions and instructions to the ministers. Disputes within the Cabinet are subject to the majority decision and collective responsibility; where there is no majority the Prime Minister’s vote shall be the deciding one.
[6:08 PM] HumanSanity: OK, I was just uncertain so wanted to raise the question
[6:08 PM] Little Miss Sunshine: in the criminal code - the pm is the one who can authorise releases from private cabinet areas
[6:08 PM] WS got deja vu.: oh yeah
[6:08 PM] WS got deja vu.: criminal code is specific
[6:09 PM] HumanSanity: ok, then that sounds good
[6:09 PM] WS got deja vu.: so i'm going to post in the cabinet orders thread basically saying i'm ordering the immediate release of the situation room thread
[6:09 PM] HumanSanity: Should it be released publicly or to private halls?
[6:09 PM] WS got deja vu.: good question
[6:09 PM] WS got deja vu.: uh
[6:09 PM] WS got deja vu.: let me look at the thread
[6:14 PM] WS got deja vu.: ok - i don't think there's anything in there that would be bad to release to the public archives, so i'll just do that.
