It is not a simple or basic rule of democracy.

For you Punchwood, I refer to The Golden Rule:

He who has the gold makes the rules.

Since I know you have a hard time understanding certain things as both me and Kris can attest to, I'll break it down for you. The rules of democracy as you see it, may differ from person to person or country to country, much like common sense.

The sections which say a vote goes to vote when it receives a motion and a second.

Unfortunately, if I am more specific than I already am in the text, Article 2.3 risks going out of date if The Charter is amended.

Quote:Article 2: Recall Procedures

1. The Assembly may recall any elected or appointed official.
2. Discussions on a recall motion will occur for at least three days.
3. A recall motion requires at least a second to be brought to a vote, unless either the original motion or the second has been withdrawn.
4. The official is recalled should 75% of votes cast in favor of such.
I took Uni's draft and edited #3 on it. What do you think?

I personally dont agree with a person being able to withdraw their recall motion. A person should think hard about bringing a recall motion to the Assembly and not being able to withdraw should cause people to pause and consider their intentions first. I especially dont think motions and seconds should be able to be withdrawn.

Just my 2 cents.

So, basically, your saying a recall motion should be an all or nothing decision?

I motion to vote.

Just to be clear we are making sure we have three day discussion before there's a motion and the second correct?

Just a second is required, but the three days is as well.
