RE: August 2017 APCRC Special Election - Escade - 08-23-2017

I didn't think I would be agreeing with Punchwood but surprise. If we're being nitpicky then campaigning can't happen until after nominations is over. Therefore, since rules have been broken we might need to restart the whole process.

Again, I'd emphasize the spirit of the elections here because the charter isn't as specific and we shouldn't punish players for our mistakes in the laws or the larger CoA process that neither we nor the party members have control of.

I mean I'm not running for member but if I was I'd be open to more candidates. The more people run the better all of us have to be.

RE: August 2017 APCRC Special Election - Griffindor - 08-23-2017

In a majority vote, the APCRC has resolved to give a wavier of sorts to any person in the party who has been nominated, regardless of their membership status, a chance to accept their nomination and get on the ballot, so long as they accept before the designated campaign period ends.

Upon the conclusion of this special election, the APCRC and the party as a whole will begin the process of reforming party elections so this issue doesn't come up in the future.

Just to reiterate my previous statement from discord, could we get an answer from the APCRC on what I said earlier? Thanks!

Quote:You may note that I didn't include Katie in the above. Regardless of whether or not the APCRC decides that Punchwood is within his rights to accept his nomination, Katie is doubtless unable to for another reason entirely. Her nomination was made at a time when she herself was not a legislator, and therefore by the rules of this party, not a member of the party. It naturally follows that her nomination is completely invalid, and so by no means whatsoever should she be able to run in this election.

RE: August 2017 APCRC Special Election - Rikutso - 08-23-2017

I hereby withdraw the acceptance of my nomination. Better luck next time y'all :3

RE: August 2017 APCRC Special Election - Griffindor - 08-24-2017

A consensus was reached on Discord with APCRC members and regular members alike that following Katie's (Rikuchar) withdrawal from the election, the murkiness of the situation is at a general end. The election will continue as planned, with the three official candidates and Lavoret should she accept.

Following this, the party as a whole is planning on reviewing our election laws in a possible 3rd party summit.

We apologize for any confusion or disorganization party members, and non members alike have felt.

You withdrew... It seems we have no problems then.

RE: August 2017 APCRC Special Election - Drall - 08-24-2017

The problem I see is a lack of people asking me questions! Ask, people, ask!!

RE: August 2017 APCRC Special Election - Griffindor - 08-24-2017

Which one of ya'll would take up the position of party secretary should you be elected? The APCRC will need a new one following Omega's return to marching band!

I will decline my nomination. Maybe next time!
