RE: [IC] Flash News - Izaakia - 02-13-2021 Widespread protests led by the liberal party in the capital today ended abruptly when gunfire broke out and opposition leader Robin B. Astard was wounded, before being taken to hospital where he later died. This has left the country without an opposition leader at a critical moment in history. The liberal party are calling this a political assassination, calling for further protests, and they also plan to hold an emergency election for a new leader in the coming week. RE: [IC] Flash News - Besern - 02-14-2021 The Besernian Minister of Family and Social Development, Amelinda Baier has been reported missing after her currently one week-long disappearance from her office after the duration of her one-week leave on compassionate grounds. She has not communicated with anyone within the past nine days. RE: [IC] Flash News - Izaakia - 02-14-2021 Foreign Minister Charles boulangerie was today hospitalised live on tv as he attempted to cross the isle in parliament and defect to the liberal party. Stating his reasons he claimed that he could no longer stand by as the government trampled over democratic rights and liberties. However, when crossing the isle he was struck across the back by the prime minister with the ceremonial sceptre before receiving further blows to the face before the prime minster was restrained. Charles Boulangerie is now in hospital in a critical but stable condition, it is unclear if he will be able to walk again. With many izaakians now questioning the mental state of Prime minister Valkyrie Mountbatten there is increasing unrest in the streets of the capital, and a 6pm curfew has been introduced for the remainder of the month. RE: [IC] Flash News - Ryccia - 02-14-2021 The Ryccian Federation has expressed its "full support" towards the liberal opposition in Izaakia and has decried the use of extreme force by the Izaakian regime. RE: [IC] Flash News - Hammerstar - 02-15-2021 The Peony of Huawan criticises the CIL for undoing months of diplomatic progress between the Peo-GiLanndian agreement with the Izaakians regarding the referenda. Vocal Ryccian support for the liberal opposition is also criticized. Ryccia was one of the neutral observers chosen by the CIL chair, The Frost Empire. "A fair and just referendum is the best course of action to ensure peace in this region, opposition for it through discord will only escalate the issue further." When asked about sanctions, The Peony states that Huawan shall "Wait until circumstances presented themselves that allow the Peocracy to formulate an advantageous plan for peace." RE: [IC] Flash News - Besern - 02-15-2021 A heart-shaped locket showing recently missing Amelinda Baier with her alleged ex-husband has been turned into the police. At the back of the locket shows a handwritten note in black marker, which reads "there is no hope". RE: [IC] Flash News - Illaois - 02-15-2021 Itomoriian Ministry of Culture has announced to the public about the "Flag Survey" earlier this morning. "We have been working on such a project for the past few weeks and agreed on having a Flag Referendum. The submission of flags is open to the public so that anyone can submit their flags. The survey consists of 2 choices that will determine whether the citizens want a new flag or keep the current flag." - Yoshi Makimoto, Minister of Culture All citizens that are 18+ are allowed to vote. RE: [IC] Flash News - Imperial Frost Federation - 02-15-2021 The Frost Empire has remained eerily quiet against the Peonic criticisms against the Committee for International law and former CiL officer Kiyomasa Honnouji, delegate for the Frost Empire. However, private analysts suspect that the Empire may respond against Huawan after they found that the Empire quietly reinstated sanctions against Izaakia. RE: [IC] Flash News - Izaakia - 02-15-2021 The Parliamentary liberal party unanimously votes for Dr Stella Blanc as leader of the liberal party. Making her both the youngest parliamentary leader in 200 years and setting the record for shortest length of time in parliament before becoming a party leader at 3 days. Her first action as leader of the opposition was to call for a motion of no confidence in the government, which will be brought before parliament on Friday. The Conservative party 1922 committee was reconvened tonight to discuss a motion of no confidence in the leader of the conservative party. RE: [IC] Flash News - Izaakia - 02-16-2021 The primeminister today was removed from office after the Conservative party ousted her in a vote of no confidence. She later checked into the Izaakston Institute of Mental Health, where psychologists believe she has had a mental breakdown due to high anxiety levels associated with the job of prime minister. This is the first time in izaakian history that any public figure has admitted to having mental health issues, with the topic still considered taboo and unizaakian. Finance Miniter Bjorn Ragnarson has been appointed interim leader of the Conservative party and has announced he will support the Liberal Parties motion of no confidence in the government tomorrow, triggering a general election under the Fixed Term Parliament Act. |
