Citizenship Removal Updates - Penguin - 06-03-2014
I'm pretty sure that has been addressed already. Just accounts that have not been activated and those that have register but no use. Sandaoguo or Tsunamy please correct me if I'm wrong.

That is correct. No account that has been posted with has been deleted.

That was really LE's question. As far as I know -- no accounts have been deleted as of yet. And, I'd imagine there would be a way to check the last activity.

I think a significant extension of the time period, like Tsu suggested, is absolutely necessary for this policy to be at all acceptable.

Here are my thoughts:
1. I don't yet understand why this is so controversial. What we did was delete accounts that had never been used, and were probably never going to be used. No citizen has had their rights infringed, and we haven't even considered deleting accounts that have been posted with.
2. If someone finds out their account has been deleted, they are still welcome to sign up again. Deleting an account doesn't mean the user is somehow unwelcome. I thought that would be obvious, but perhaps needs to be stated.
3. We didn't want to be stockpiling unused accounts, and it was a reasonable option to delete them. The fact that it's uncommon in NS isn't a good argument, because we don't do things based on how common they are. This is an issue of forum maintenance, which means it should be technical above else. It would be a different matter if it were about how we moderate, which affects active users in a direct way.
4. Extending the time from 7 to 30 days seems like a reasonable option to me. I would have no problem with implementing this, and have said the same in the administrative back office.
In the end I just want to ask everyone to take it easy. Personally I welcome everyone's input, but we letting tensions run high. That goes to both sides, regular users and administrators, myself included. I know we can have a civil discussion, we've done that in the past. Please help me do that.

I think citizenship should be for life, not just for when you're active.
To my mind there are only two justifications for removing citizenship:
-Dual citizens. Dual citizenship is currently tolerated. I have been one.
-If someone is legally classed as Hostis Humani Generis they become effectively subhuman.

No. Citizenship is not a token for people to get when they have a nation in the region. It is as much of a responsibility as it is a right. We have no use for hundreds of "citizens" whose only post is their original application.

Having gone over my various forum memberships in NS, I've found several where I've never posted and would be deleted under this policy.
I don't think, in retrospect, that an extension changes anything. There is absolutely no need for administration to delete any of these accounts, nor is it for administration to determine who is or isn't 'using' their account. Someone might very well be viewing these forums without posting, or may make use of their account at a much later date. For example, in other regions I registered an account over a year before posting.
I cannot possibly support this policy. Administration should never be deleting user accounts, with the singular exception of bot accounts. If this policy is maintained I will take this matter to the Assembly.
