[ASSEMBLY] Assembly Education Program - The Haughtherlands - 05-09-2022
As you may know, the Assembly Mentorship Program is and has been down. I plan to change that. There are significant differences though: this revival will not pair you with a mentor, it will put you in a class headed by a teacher; teachers must follow a syllabus, albeit on their own time with their own methods of teaching. Given that there should be more students per teacher, not too many teachers will be appointed. Students can be citizens who don't hold legislatorship. Suggestions on changes can be made below. This program will not start for a bit.
Teachers- Must have been a legislator for a time
- Must be able to teach students effectively
- Must have time to teach
Students- No prerequisites required
- Must have legislatorship for the Practice Course
Both- Discord strongly recommended
- A document service (e.g. Microsoft Word / Google Docs) is strongly recommended
Syllabus

If you would like to apply to the program, state your intentions below (teacher | student), why you want to join, and any extra information you believe to be valuable.
RE: Assembly Education Program - Evinea_ - 05-09-2022
Even though I have been a legislator for a bit, I would like to be a student to learn how to be a more effective and responsible member of the Assembly.

Man Chair-Assembly I really wish you've informed me earlier on this when the Chief of Justice recommended I take on the rework. I've already drafted some changes to the original document.

[strike]Hello Legislators!!![/strike]
The Assembly Mentorship Program, or AMP for short, is the program for any interested new legislators who would like to learn how [strike]the Assembly works[/strike]. The program will allow new legislators to sign up as a "student", who will then be paired with [strike]a Legislator who signed up to be[/strike] a "Mentor". [strike]The mentor will then talk one-to-one with the student on how the Assembly runs, show them where to find the laws, tell them about the ministries, and be available to answer the student's questions over anything in the Assembly. Students graduate after 4 months in the program.[/strike]
[strike]At present, the requirements to become a Mentor for interested parties are:
-having served as a legislator for more than 6 months[/strike]
Reinvented:
Hello citizens. AMP will be a permanent, voluntary institution of free association, based on the principle of sharing common knowledge between TSP citizens. The Assembly Mentorship Program, or AMP for short, is the program for any interested new legislators who would like to learn how the government at large works, laws enforced in TSP and offices they aspire to hold. The program will allow new legislators to sign up as a ''Student'', who will then be paired with a ''Mentor''. Pairings can be formed through prior consultations of interested parties or be constructed by myself, using the list of submitted applicants.
The pairings must give monthly reports on their progress for the first three months, on this thread. One pairing cannot last longer than six months. All changes (constructing or abolition) to a pair must be posted publicly on this thread.
Mentors are expected to have held at least one government office or 6 months of legislator status. Students are expected to list what they're specifically interested in and whether they have aspirations towards certain government offices. This information is expressed for better transparency and transfer of power, though it is not conditional.
Application for mentor: (Legislator), (Chair), (Cabinet-which), (Coral Guard), (SPSF), (OWL), (LC).
Application for student:
The specifics of the draft are a nuisance, though defining a Quote: permanent, voluntary institution of free association
was a vital goal I had in mind. Reason was to avoid the issue of a 'dying but still relevant' thread.
The AEP would be a good framework to start with, as it is the Assembly. However, introducing free student-mentor associations based on a given student's aspirations towards a specific office and the mentor's experience in said aspired office would also be very fruitful for the Coalition going forward.
I suppose that the nature of these programs, education regarding the Assembly and the government as a whole, could be lead along one-another, if given enough interest for mentorship. Et all, the voluntary and permanent nature are a core significance as to avoid the precedent set by the AMP.
