This is stereotypical (not in a negative way, in a funny way). I don't see anything racist. And, from what I know, Japan did commit horrendous war crimes in colonial Korea (who wouldn't be angry at that?), and also they don't use that many r's in Korean (from what I know, according to Google Translate). Don't overreact, and just enjoy the joke.

Also, I've seen Polandball comics in where the Koreas use l's instead of r's. That got accepted by Reddit, ja?

RE: Ryccia's Polandball Show - Belschaft - 12-21-2016

"Accepted on reddit" doesn't make something not racist. A certain amount of stereotyping 'engrish' can he amusing, but only when used sparingly and as part of a larger joke. As I said, polandball can be funny; that one, however, isn't - you've completely overused engrish to the point where it's quite blatantly racist and at the same time kills the joke.

It could have been, if you'd gone about the whole thing in a more minimalist way; it's true that pretty much the only thing the two Korea's have in common is disliking Japan, and that's obvious polandball material.

Well, sue for using that. What did I know, eh?

RE: Ryccia's Polandball Show - Belschaft - 12-21-2016

*sighs*

I believe you've missed my point entirely.

Not entirely sure where the racism was in that...
Do I need to refer someone to a dictionary again?

RE: Ryccia's Polandball Show - Hammerstar - 12-22-2016

I fail to see the problem about it, the joke was about both Koreas, who were mortal enemies since their birth, ganging up on a common enemy, Japan. Like they say they are so different, when in fact that deep inside they are just the same.

It's true, it is quite stereotypical of the asian nation, and maybe blatantly racist, despite that, let me remind you that you are in no way to judge, since.. Well, all of us are neither Japanese nor Korean.

Why so sensitive over something so minor.

RE: Ryccia's Polandball Show - GI-Land - 12-22-2016

Then they're sensitive. It isn't a problem at all, I think. We've got all a different taste and sense of humour and maybe, some things are just for a few people less funny, because the racism is getting exaggerated or anything like that. But that's fine.
You don't have to enjoy everything someone posts and you can say that, since we've got free speech, don't we? Smile

In agreement, there is indeed a thin line between pester and free speech.

And that joke would have been funny, if there wasn't so much use of 'engrish'.

That's the whole point of Polandball
