Nelson Mandela would have been 99 years old today. Happy birthday to one of the greatest human rights icons this world was ever graced to have.

CNN is reporting that US Senator John McCain has been diagnosed with brain cancer—the same type that caused Senator Ted Kennedy's death in 2009. Heartbreaking.

Damn. That's one of the few Republicans who isn't completely insane (and anybody who had to endure years as a prisoner of war in Vietnam deserves my respect). Heartbreaking indeed.

In Bavaria you can now get officially arrested for more or less ever for being a "dangerous person" - even if no proof is existing.
Before that law, you could get arrested for a maximum of 14 days in Bavaria, in all other states for less, but now, with the situation with the terrorist attacks etc., Bavaria seems to need to pass a law, that will give the justice the right to even arrest unguilty people for as long as they want, even if they say that a judicial decision is needed every 3 months.

Not from my country, but I'm currently focused on this:

Israel and Palestine are in a standoff between each other and conflict currently sparks across the area

RE: News from your Country - GI-Land - 07-24-2017

Isn't conflict between the both almost all the time? Sometimes a bit more - even war - sometimes a bit less.
