Following a year of confrontations between the Government and Congress, PPK has submitted a confidence motion on his Cabinet, to keep Congress from censuring the Education Minister.
If Congress denies confidence to two Cabinets, the Constitution allows the President to dissolve Congress and call for a new election.

Congress, with its Fujimorist majority, has denied confidence to the Cabinet, which means all its members will have to resign.
PPK will have to appoint a new Cabinet, though it can have the same members as the previous one, with the exception of the Prime Minister.
If Congress chooses not to give confidence to the new Cabinet, or denies it at any point during the rest of the term, PPK will be legally allowed to dissolve Congress.

PPK is swearing in his new Cabinet, as can be seen here.
He has appointed as Prime Minister his Second Vice President, Mercedes Araoz. She is also a Member of Congress, and served in the Cabinet of Former President Alan Garcia, between 2006 and 2010. So far all parties have expressed a willingness of give her the confidence vote.
