RE: News from your Country - Kris Kringle - 05-21-2015 Wait for December, for those threads to get declassified. RE: News from your Country - Feirmont - 05-21-2015 Also, upon further research; the election law in the Yukon (Canada) states that in the event of a complete tie, the election will be resolved by a draw of lots. Crazy crazy RE: News from your Country - Ryccia - 05-21-2015 I want to move to Canada. Its cold, and it has a high standard of living. Does Canada accept latino immigrants in Vancouver? RE: News from your Country - Kris Kringle - 05-21-2015 Enough threadjack. Back to news posting. RE: News from your Country - Feirmont - 06-05-2015 Someone or a group of people have been injecting sewing needles into PEI (Atlantic Canada) potatoes. This has reached my city, as a case has been found here. http://www.theglobeandmail.com/news/national/tampering-with-needles-puts-pei-potato-growers-on-edge/article22272667/ I just don't get some people. I love potatoes. RE: News from your Country - Awe - 06-06-2015 There's been a earthquake in Malaysia, several Singaporean schoolchildren and their teachers are trapped http://www.todayonline.com/singapore/parents-missing-children-quake-hit-sabah-head-kota-kinabalu RE: News from your Country - Hammerstar - 06-17-2015 News from Indonesia: Marhaban ya Ramadhan Selamat Menunaikan Ibadah Puasa, Semoga menambah kaulitas keimanan dan kesabaran. @Awe: hey, is singapore starting their fasting month tommorow like us? RE: News from your Country - Ryccia - 06-17-2015 (06-17-2015, 09:28 AM)The International Knights Wrote: News from Indonesia: ? Why would you fast? Isn't it better to eat? Sure, fasting for a day sounds good for religious purposes, but for a whole month?(Always wanted to ask that question to a muslim or a person of a muslim country. No offense btw) And I think not. It seems that in Singapore, muslims are not the majority. It seems that buddhists are, but Singapore is very diverse. And, in other news, the AAA(Autoridad de Acueductos y Alcantarillados, otherwise known in Ryccialand as water monopoly) is fining people for misuse of water. Several "misuses" are washing your car, giving water to plants, taking off the dirt out of the sidewalk with water, etc. Fines are $250 for a person and $750 for a business. RE: News from your Country - Hammerstar - 06-17-2015 .... It's better if you find out yourself. But for me and my inner circle, we do fasting. But fasting is not all about not eating eat, it is the time where we cleanse ourselves from the feeling of lust and greed. Some people in my country think it's just not eating, but really, it's controlling your appetite. If you've done it for 8 years, you kinda get used to it. We just have a way to control it. Religions like Buddhism, Hinduism and Taoism have something similar. They meditate for long hours to reach a complete zen mode, and in order to reach a point of enlightenment and control of emotional and luscious feelings. Furthermore, I don't think Singapore has a majority. It's like a salad of culture, which is why I like to visit there RE: News from your Country - Ryccia - 06-17-2015 (06-17-2015, 09:41 AM)The International Knights Wrote: .... Some people in my country think it's just not eating, but really, it's controlling your appetite. That's a very good religious purpose for fasting for a month. Us Christians sometimes fast in the morning to pray or whatever(although I don't know about other countries, maybe we are the only ones or there are few christians who fast sometimes in the morning to pray to God?). But I never fasted before(I get hungry, and I hate hunger. Its a nuisance), unlike many people at my relatives's church. |
