RE: [IC] Flash News - Qaweritoyu - 01-12-2018

The Qaz Referendum on Metricism is open all day today.

Prime Minister Barrett has bought an old building in Alton City and has started designing, with someone else, a new building for the space the current building occupies. The plan is for the old building to be knocked down, for a spacious new house to be built there, for security around it to be put in place and then for the house to become the new Residence of the Sitting Prime Minister. She hopes that her successor will also move in there the week they are elected, whenever that is. She was also seen out voting in the Referendum today with her husband.

The First Gentleman was seen out casting both his and the President's votes in the Referendum today.

RE: [IC] Flash News - Qaweritoyu - 01-12-2018

The Qaz Referendum on the Removal of Metricism has concluded. 46% voted for the removal of Metricism. 54% voted against it, thus, Metricism remains in place in Qaweritoyu.

"While we acknowledge that the UF still technically exists, we don't see it as having any power and quite simply belive a united approach to be taken through the WF is the best approach for all of Pacifica. While we have no opinion on the Ryccian ascension to the UF, the current administration has no plans of joining it or the SCO in any capacity." -VEP John Colbert speaking to the SE Foreign Affairs Committee.

RE: [IC] Flash News - Ryccia - 01-13-2018

The Ryccian Government has announced an ambitious new plan to stop rural decline: the National Railroad. The idea is to connect the country by rail, emphasizing smaller communities so their population does not have to leave in order to look for work, but stay and work in a bigger town. Thus, the youth doesn't have to leave to enjoy prosperity and commodity, as they can live in smaller towns and shop and work in bigger ones. Ryccia is imposing taxes to help fund this programme, and announced that any corrupt officials in the project will be put to death.
