The Izaakian youth teams flight from surfers paradise to Besern today was far from uneventful after Union protestors on strike stormed the runway at Surfers Paradise Airport and formed a barrier across the runway. After police unsuccessfully attempted to clear the run way by force the plane was instructed to take off through the protestors, killing two protestors and injuring dozens.

The flight crew of the flight carrying the Izaakian Youth Olympic team have been taken into custody after landing at Zersbach-Sudstadtfurt Airport, after traces of blood and possible other human material (i.e. tissue) were found on the landing gear and engine fan blades.

Negligent vehicular manslaughter and attempted vehicular manslaughter have been ruled out following the news about the situation at Surfers Paradise Airport, the origin of the flight.

Vehicular manslaughter and attempted manslaughter are felony-class crimes in Besern, punishable with five to fifteen years imprisonment and/with or without a fine.

If a foreign national commits a crime that would be a felony in Besern, they shall serve their sentence before being deported.

The Izaakian Youth Olympic team have been allowed to disembark from the aircraft scot-free.

The Zersbach-Flughafen division of the Besernian Federal Police are in talks with the Izaakian embassy in Brient and the Izaakian police force for assistance in the case.

The Qaz Presidential Election has concluded and votes are being counted all day today and tomorrow with a result announced at the close of business tomorrow.

Luke Phelps has succeeded Dr. Joanna Barrett as Prime Minister during her sick leave which is expected to last at least a few months. Dr. Barrett has temporarily taken up Office as a Vice-Prime Minister alongside Dr. Monica Ortiz and Dr. Barrett remains the Leader of the Modern Marxist Party during this time, pending her full return to work.

Izaakian foreign minister Athena Popadomalus condemns the besernian arrest of the Olympiad plane flight crew citing that Besern has no rights to punish Izaakian citizens for acts committed on Izaakian soil and that these actions are a violation of Izaakian sovereignty and the rights of Izaakian citizens. Athena Popadomalus went on to demand the flight crew be released.

Sedunn is re-routing all arriving Izaakian flights to special airfields and has grounded all departing Izaakian-registered planes in response to the incident in Surfers Paradise Airport. The air force confirms it has been escorting Izaakian planes in Sedunnic airspace.

Transport Minister Zuuko Yamanashi remarked that airplane schedules will remain unaltered, security will be tighter against unauthorized accesses in airport facilities.

"The recent tragedy is in Izaakian soil, and we hope the police department in Surfer's Paradise will reach to the fitting conclusion in the matters at hand."

Following a series of incidents involving protestors at key infrastructure sites, Montaica and Brodlancia experienced a 4 hour blackout through the night which plunged the regions into darkness and halted all wireless communications within the territories. By the end of the night dozens of union leaders had been placed under arrest as part of powers under the Riot Act and disrupters across Montaica and Brodlancia had been dispersed. Media restrictions have been temporarily put in place to control the situation.
