After 10 months since the occupation of Brodlancia and Montaica, both regions have now become carbon neutral for electricity generation.
Development Minister Clive Le Rogue celebrated the fact that the entire United States of Izaakia is now carbon neutral for energy production, and outlined the governments next 10 development targets, as following.
1) Generate Surplus renewable power in the USI to reduce costs giving Izaakia an economic advantage.
2) Carbon Neutral USI Railways by the end of 2022.
3) Carbon Neutral USI Commercial Transport by 2023.
4) Carbon Neutral USI Private Transport by 2025.
5) Carbon Neutral USI Air and Shipping by 2035.
6) Universal advanced education at either Higher Education Institutions or Technical Apprenticeship Schemes by 2025
7) End Homelessness by the end of 2021
8) Liberalisation of punishments drug consumption offences, releasing non-violent drug offenders and investing in rehabilitation centres.
9) Align Brodlancian and Montacian Educational Stardards with the higher level in Izaakia.
10) Adult education centres to re-train disadvantaged and unemployed people.
More detailed policy announcements will be made by the relevant departments and ministers over the coming weeks.

Imperial Frost officials expressed their skepticism at the Izaakian claims of carbon neutrality in generating electricity with some going as far as stating that Izaakia's goals are a smoke and mirrors to cover for their continued illegal occupation of Brodmark and La Montagne.

Home Secretary Phillipe Sainz officially sanctioned the release from imprisonment of all non-violent drug users in the United States of Izaakia. Those who have been identified for release will be tested for recent drug use, and either immediately released if they are clear, or sent to a state of the art remote rehabilitation centre for a minimum of 1 month before release on the grounds of a negative drugs test. Future drugs infractions will be treated on a 3 strikes and you’re out basis, where any subsequent infraction will result in a term of 1 month at a rehabilitation centre. Police have been instructed to only test the public for drugs when a person has caused a public inconvenience, has been rendered unfit by suspected drug use or has the potential to cause imminent danger.
The new state of the art rehabilitation facilities are designed to be remote areas of naturally stunning geography. At these facilities the rehabilitation patients will conduct a number of activities including farming, gardening, cooking and sports. They are free to leave the facilities during the day, however all the facilities habe been built in areas over 1 day walking distance away from the nearest settlement in order to prevent an outside drug supply.

Izaakia imposes bio-quarantine laws for all plants and animals entering any of the three regions of the USI. Quarantine rules will also apply between the three regions. This has been imposed to protect the highly valuable Rubber Plantation industry in Brodlancia and Montaica, which is a monoculture crop that is vulnerable to Rubber Blight. The potential risks of economic collapse should the rubber industry fail has also prompted the government to invest further in the development of dandelion based rubber, and has started a program to seed large areas of tundra in the Keyli Region with the High Arctic dandelion.

The President Doctor Stella Blanc today announced that The CosmosNet Network will become integrated with Izaakias two leading Artificial Intelligence programs. The two programs will act in tandem with Hive being based in and responsible for Montacia and Brodlancia and Synapse being based in and responsible for Izaakian Keyli territories.
Alongside the CosmosNet network, the government and financial industry will share all data with the Artificial Intelligences and trial AI based decision making. Several private companies and Universities have also signed up to partner with Hive and Synapse. It is hoped that through the ability to process huge amounts of data and learn these two AIs will be able to make Izaakia much more efficient, richer and a better environment for its citizens.
