2015 Canadian Federal Elections - Farengeto - 06-22-2015

While there may be plenty of interest in the United States' elections next year, here in Canada we are now only four months from our federal elections with Parliament having ended on Friday.

For those unfamiliar there are 5 main parties in Canada:
>Conservatives: Canada's right-wing party, currently leads a majority government under Stephen Harper.
>Liberal: Canada's left-wing party lead by Justin Trudeau, son of former Prime Minister Pierre Trudeau
>New Democratic Party: Canada's socialist party, left by Thomas Mulcair. Experienced a massive surge last election to become the official opposition.
>Bloc Quebecois: Quebec nationalist party lead by Gilles Duceppe. The party lost nearly all its seats last election, losing official party status.
>Green: Environmentalist party led by Elizabeth May. Small but growing party which recently gained its first seat in Parliament.

Polls have been a tight three-way race between the Conservatives, Liberals and NDP. The election could very well go any way at this point, and I myself remain undecided as campaigns go full force.

I normally vote my riding. This election I have no idea who my choices are, so it'll be an interesting election for me.

I do have a pre-campaign guess:

Minority Government: NDP
Official Opposition: Conservative

Bloc Quebequois getting no more than 5 seats, Green Party 1, Independent getting the usual 1.

Hope the liberals win. But Stephen Harper is good, or so I think.

Even though I was never there, I miss the 80s. British PM Margaret Thatcher, Canadian PM Brian Mulroney, and President Ronald Reagan.

Stephen Harper is the GWB of Canada, in my opinion.

Don't mind me I'm just on Tapatalk

He's not great but he's not quite as bad as Bush was.

Campaign season is actually rather amusing, since there are two major ad campaigns:

>Liberal ad featuring Trudeau
>Conservative ad attacking Trudeau

So basically every ad they play is all about Trudeau.

NDP sounds good to me.

Hey, I had this quiz sent to me by a friend on Facebook. (Yes, I know people outside of NS Tounge).

I invite you guys to give it a try and post your results. It's been updated for the upcoming election and is a good way to see how your values match up to the Canadian Political parties.

(To shorten the image, I used img=400x500)

Some very important issues for me in the upcoming elections are Education, Environment and Economy (The big E's). It seems my views on these issues match those of the Liberal, NDP and even Communist party in my riding.

I would vote for which ever party these two belong to, for carrying out this little stunt. Especially the guy that speaks first, because he said all that with a strait face.
