Exit polls point to a run-off election. Bet Peruvian's will love that.

We always have runoff elections. I'd be surprised the time we don't have one. Our party system is too fractured to have outright majorities unless the candidate is wildly popular.

Exit polls point to a runoff between Fujimori and Kuczynski. Fujimori has almost 40% and Kuczynski and Mendoza have around 20%-21%. With a less than 1% difference, it's still unclear who'll face Fujimori. Some say the Peruvians Abroad vote will give PPK the edge over Mendoza.

Does the Peruvian system have an instant runoff or is there another vote on another day?

RE: 2016 Peruvian Presidential Election - Kris Kringle - 04-10-2016

There will be a runoff election with the top two in June.

I do hope Kuczynski wins, because of the Peruvian leftist Mendoza.

Its the only option to beat Fujimori.

Preliminary counting says Kuczynski will go on to the runoff: http://elcomercio.pe/politica/elecciones/resultados-ipsos-conteo-rapido-219-ppk-186-veronika-mendoza-noticia-1893219
