At 98.492% the official results are 50.124% for PPK and 49.876% for Keiko. That's a difference of 0.248% or 42 278 votes.

If it keeps up like this you'll reach Puerto Rico levels of closeness, where 10,000 votes of separation is kinda normal.

Until now, the combined totals of PPK and Keiko are 17 023 056 votes, but that doesn't include (1) blank or spoiled ballots and (2) observed ballots, which are being sent to electoral boards for further evaluation. I'd say that brings the total of votes counted to about 1.2 million more votes than the above figure.

I find it funny how so many people are complaining on Facebook about how the elections office is taking so long to finish the count. They have taken less than a week to get to 99% for this election, and in previous elections they took weeks to get to 90%.

The thing is, when the result is clear, people don't complain about waiting for the final count, but this race is just so close. It almost draws parallels with the 2000 presidential election in the U.S., except it was without the voting irregularities in Florida.

Indeed. I mean, I find it funny because I understand what's going on. But so many people are posting stuff like "the ONPE is taking so long to count the votes. They must be in bed with the fujimoristas!" or "Why are they taking so long? They're going to rig the votes!" and so on, instead of thinking back and realising the election is just close.
