An unexpectedly close game between USA and Australia in men's basketball, but at least we won. Sorry to the Aussies on this forum, but we won.

Damn

No surprise with the result. We've shown we're good enough to compete with the best. Now it's time to keep going and get a medal.

Day Six ends, and the only update I have on Venezuela is that one of our boxers was eliminated (a good thing for the guy in my opinion; his probable opponent in the next round basically destroyed the poor bastard he faced to get there, almost knocking him out), while another made it to the quarterfinals in his category.

In other news, Fiji won its first ever Olympic medal, a gold one no less (in rugby). In swimming, American Simone Manuel and Canadian Penny Oleksiak ended in a tie for first place in 100 meters freestyle, meaning both of them won gold.

Michael Phelps has now enough gold to make his own coffee table, and Katie Ledecky broke an Olympic record... again.

Women's or men's?

Women's or men's?

The latter. The women's event was won by Australia.

Can't NOT mention Simone Biles, the US gymnast, winning the All Around. Her win by 2.06 pts is greater than the margin of victory in the last 9 olympics (1980-2012) combined and she's on her way to grabbing 5 of the 6 gymnastic medals. One of the greatest olympic performances ever

Forgot that. The only thing I know about gymnastics is that Nadia Comaneci won lots of gold in it Happywide I did watch the team event, though. Pretty impressive, even if I was supporting the Russians xD

Now, Day Seven update. The Venezuelan basketball team lost against France, meaning we're practically screwed there. The good news is that one of our athletes, hammer thrower Rosa Rodríguez, qualified for the finals of her event!

The US women's football team, current Olympic and world champions, was eliminated by Sweden in the quarterfinals. Ethiopian Almaz Ayana won the women's 10.000 meter race, breaking the world record in the process. Canadian Rosannagh "Rosie" MacLennan won gold in trampoline.

Lastly, in 200 meters backstroke, Katinka Hosszú won another gold... *somebody whispers behind him* What!? She came in second!? Maya Durado beat her in the last meters of the race?!

Well, that was was surprising. Michael Phelps swam again, in possibly his last individual Olympic event. He...*double checks* ...also came in second!? With two others!? Singaporean Joseph Schooling won!?

Ok. I guess Katie Ledecky lost by a finger or something. *Checks* Oh. She won the 800 meters freestyle by a ridiculously large margin, annihilating the world record in the process. No surprises there.

So one of our athletes might win a medal eh? Good. Tennis is a good game, it seems.

Now, c'mon Mónica Puig, get that gold! Or else, you'll humiliate our nation!

I know quite a bit about gymnastics. Nastia Liukin and Shawn Johnson in 2008. Aly Raisman and Simone Biles in 2016.
