XDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDD

What are you gonna vote for???

I think we need a 51st state at this time..

Fun fact: No president has ever died under the same flag they were born under.

There are currently 50, and it has been that way for 50 years roughly. Puerto Rico is voting to or not to become the 51st state.

RE: Decisions 2017 - GI-Land - 03-06-2017

The chance to get into all of the parliaments is for the (far-)right-wing party "AfD" (Alternative for Germany) high.
The Wall Street Journal now had an interview with the thuringian head of the party Björn Höcke, in which he stated:

"The big problem is that one presents Hitler as absolutely evil. But of course we know that there is no black and no white in history." (btw he was a former history teacher).

In January he already said things like, that the German Holocaust-memorial in Berlin is a "memorial of shame" for Germany, that the german people would do "dumb policies of coping" (with the past) and that the Germans (and German politics) would need a turn of 180° in their thinking about the past.

The WSJ moreover quoted the national head of the party Petry too. She said in Hambach Castle, it wouldn't be okay, that german students learn over and over all the years everything about the Holocaust, but often don't know anything about the suffering of the german people during WW2, e.g. of the bomb attacks on Dresden or the war crimes of the Russians and Americans (rapes on both sides, but especially those of the Russians, or that the US-Army let German prisoners of war die of starvation in the "Rheinwiesen Camps").

The party luckily loses percentages, especially due to the "Schulz effect", that got the Social Democrats high percentages in the polls, while the Consevatives with Merkel and the populists with Höcke/Petry have lost many.
Still they will most likely get into the parliament and I'm ashamed, that people like them are assuming, they are the people of Germany and would be a good "alternative" and that people even do think that and vote for them, especially in the constituencies, where the party isn't only populist or just conservative (yes, those people within the AfD are existing too, even though one wouldn't believe it), but really far-right wing nationalists.

RE: Decisions 2017 - Jay Coop - 03-10-2017

Park Geun-hye, the President of South Korea, has been removed from office today. There will be a presidential election on or before 9 May 2017. Had the impeachment been overturned, the election would have happened in December, since Park was elected in 2012 to a five-year term.

RE: Decisions 2017 - Ausstan - 03-10-2017

My crazy left-wing Korean friend started celebrating in the middle of class today when he found out.

RE: Decisions 2017 - Jay Coop - 03-15-2017

Here we go. The Netherlands is voting. I hope Geert Wilders doesn't win.

RE: Decisions 2017 - GI-Land - 03-15-2017

He most likely will have a success for his party, but won't win and even if he would, he wouldn't get an absolute majority and no one really would want to form a coalition with his party.
First results should be in after the polling stations are closed at 21:00h (GMT+1)/20 h (GMT)
