RE: [DISCUSSION] Amendment to Article 1 of the Criminal Code (Defamation) - Beepee - 11-27-2018

Oh i hate defamation it's such a poopy part of any law system, and it's never going to fit into a paragraph. And it's going to be so dependant on what part if the world you live in, tone, which never works in written form, and judicial interpretation. But It's a necessary evil.

The wording is fine. I do worry the courts will be busy defining the extent of the law. Perhaps @Amerion would like to mock trial if it's approved?

I motion to vote.

RE: [DISCUSSION] Amendment to Article 1 of the Criminal Code (Defamation) - Amerion - 11-27-2018

I've included the original section number of bribery and indicated that it is to be stricken from the legislation. I should also note that as NHC pointed out here, the section number was wrong and repeated '8' twice. So this amendment should have the added effect of correcting that error.

Quote:(9) Defamation shall be defined as the communication of false or grossly misleading information about an individual to a recipient, for the purposes of damaging the standing of that individual and done so with a reckless disregard for its factual accuracy.

(8) (10) Bribery shall be defined as the receiving or offering of undue patronage by or to any individual in order to influence behavior that the recipient would otherwise not alter.

RE: [PASSED] Amendment to Article 1 of the Criminal Code (Defamation) - The Sakhalinsk Empire - 11-30-2018

@Amerion

I understand why this happened, but still, I suggest you use your discretionary powers to fix this:

Criminal Code Wrote:(9) Extortion shall be defined as the threatening of any individual in order to influence behavior that the recipient would otherwise not alter.

(9) Defamation shall be defined as the communication of false or grossly misleading information about an individual to a recipient, for the purposes of damaging the standing of that individual and done so with a reckless disregard for its factual accuracy.
