Mapping the rest of Pacifica


Following discussion and a poll, I've found that there's a lot of support for adding new continents and define what the rest of Pacifica looks like. This thread will be a workshop where the RPers of the forum are invited to participate in making the map!

This is the plan:
  1. Share and discuss ideas for new continents
  2. Agree on a basic draft
  3. Finalise the map by applying a cohesive design (which isn't necessarily the design currently used in the regional map)

Some initial boundary conditions:
  • New land shall be realistic
  • New land shall be located far away enough so that the South Pacific (i.e. the map we have now) "stands out" as a region of its own
  • An exception to the above: the Antarctic Continent shall extend farther to the south
  • There shall be ice caps extending towards the poles from about the "Arctic" and "Antarctic" circles
  • There shall be no plots, and we shall not actively use new land in future RPs

You don't have to be an expert on cartography or be some graphic designer (I'm neither Happywide ), just post ideas in a way that suits you. Grab the blank map below, and let's get started!

We already discussed that, and if plots were allowed, almost all would have vote against the whole idea. Not mentioning that it would turn Qwert work as a cartographer in a mammoth job!

I like the variety of features, my suggestion would be to have less insular disposition of the continents and have the TSP less isolated.
I made a rough sketch just to give an example of what I'm suggesting:
