Those questions are way harder than questions like "How does the fusion in the Sun produce energy?"

In the Sun, the fusion of H atoms produces He whilst releasing energy in form of heat. Thus, once the star begins producing Fe it shall cool down (or expand its mass) as the Fe consumes energy rather than release it.

I couldn't help myself from quoting it as I'm not always around. Tounge

By the way, the first round of midterms just ended. However, today I gotta have my first "optional" final this afternoon, English (Advance II). I better ace it or it'll be utterly embarrassing as an English teacher...

Now that's what we call triage, the assessment to determine the priority of those who needs it. If the 60 year old has more severe wounds and is likely not to survive, we need to help the 20 year old who still got a chance to live. Of course, if we're done with the 20 year old, we need to immediately direct our attention to the 60 year old.

It's just something that we need to face, if you wanna be a doctor.

Yea that is something that would be hard. If the 60yo doesn't have a high survival rate yes turn to the 20yo. Course where I live, you mostly will only deal with people 60 and above lol.

The idea there is to actually try to stabilize both of them. It really depends on the injuries, but if you wanna save both, you'll likely have to put more effort into the 60 y/o.
One way or another, that question isn't really very good. Some "severe" wounds can be dealt with by a single person, while others may require extensive effort and a full surgical team.

Welp, finally finished the interview. It was hard.

Muncipio, if you really want to go to med school. You're gonna take the test as well, so no harm telling you now.

For the mini multiple interviews, you are going to be introduced to eight stations. From the eight stations, six are going to be an interview station, two will be rest station (If you wanna go to the bathroom, cool down, etc). There's one interviewer in the six interview stations. For what you're going to be interviewed, each university varies, for me (Since the university of indonesia cooperates with Melbourne U, Newcastle-upon-tyne U, etc) I'm taking the british/australian interview matrix.

From six stations

1 station is a roleplay

3 station is a two way discussion (One of which will be a stress interview)

1 station is a written exam (Short paragraph about a picture)

1 station is a traditional interview

The questions that would be asked is like the one I just told ya. There are going to be four types of questions: Open Ended, Ethical, Social and Personality.

Open ended is about your interests towards medicine and the university, they are going to be asking the conventional interview q's (Why should we choose you, why this university, strengths and weaknesses, etc)

Ethical is about the one I just asked, this is going to fill in most of the two way discussions (How would you tell a patient just diagnosed with cancer that he has only a few weeks to live? How would you express your concern for a child who needs an amputation? During a routine physical examination of a 10-year-old girl you discover unmistakable evidence that she has been physically and sexually abused over a period of time. Both her parents are in the waiting room. How would you respond to this situation?, etc)

Social is about the social problems in medicine, they are going to ask about the latest event in medicine in your country, so keep updated. (Do you think that doctors are being paid too much or too little? Why?, What are your thoughts on capitation? What do you think should be done to control health care costs in this country?, etc)

Personality are questions that indicate who you are, and they're quite conventional (How well do you feel you function under pressure?, What are your hobbies? Do you plan to continue your hobbies while in medical school?, If I offered you a spot in our next class before you left this interview, would you accept?, etc)

the link that helped me prepare.

If you're keen to study in medicine, I would suggest formulating the answers for all four parts of the interview, especially in the ethical one. Try to ask several medical officers about your answers.

By the way Rhino, that answer is not really viable. Apparently the best answer is to express that you have a willingness to help both, but in the cases of this situation, a protocol (Known as a medical triage) is completed, where we assess the people's probability to live, if the young has a higher chance of surviving, then we prioritize the younger and vice versa if the older has a higher probability to live. There are several assessments, say in the accident one is unconscious and losing a huge amount of blood while the other is still screaming for help, according to the protocol, we are going to prioritize the one that's screaming for help, and conduct the operation on that one first. Once then if we still have time, we are going to save the others.

My unlucky friend had actually tried to say what you just said, a variation of "Some "severe" wounds can be dealt with by a single person, while others may require extensive effort and a full surgical team.". The invigilator took a lot of rounds at her, to a point that made her quite teary.....

Ah, triage. People who will live no matter what, who will live with medical assistance, and who won't live no matter what.

Good luck.
