As such, I hereby accept Escade's nomination Smile

I protest this action as being against the Charter of the APC, and urge the APC to see sense in this. There's quite literally no point in differentiating between the nomination and campaigning period if one can accept nominations and campaign during both. It is clear that as the two times were differentiated by our own laws, the campaigning period must be for the sole use of campaigning from the candidates - the candidates being those who were nominated and accepted their nominations during the nomination period.

Since the nomination period has ended, it naturally follows that neither Rikuchar nor Punchwood may accept their nominations.

The Charter does not have any specific rules on elections, simply that they must last 20 days and have three periods. It does not state how long they must last for, nor what you can do in them. I mean by your logic yourself and your opponent broke the Charter rules, by campaigning during the nomination period and not solely within the campaign period.

I would also point out that as Rikuchar said, you cannot nominate someone after the nomination period, it says nothing on when you must accept nominations.

Finally why do we have a nominating period at all? Both here and in TSP at large, it serves no purpose whatsoever. Everyone campaigns during nominating periods, meaning that we don't have a sole campaign period. Then we get onto the fact that does it really matter when you stand, so long as you do so before polls open? I mean there can be events that push people into standing later on, when they had no plan to do so at the start of an election season. Having a strict rule over when you can and can't run is not only silly, I think it is slightly undemocratic and bad for everyone as we lose out on extra ideas, extra candidates etc.

I do therefore accept my nomination, you can expect a campaign up by tomorrow.
