First Huawan - CE talks
#1

She had sent the letter.

The letter for the government Island summit had been signed and sent off through the Ambassador's communique. She took off her glasses and sighed before pinching the bridge of her nose. She looked outside, the sound of the sea followed the slow rocking of the ship.

As the reenactment of the Jade Voyage went along, the ships sailed the original paths of history. 8 large floating cities 140 metres long and 60 metres wide, at its time carrying over 500 to 1000 tradesmen, diplomats and expenditionaries.

Now these ships sailed after extensive reworkings, and refurbishing for the reenactment. The ships were divided into two fleets, accompanied by a large fleet of modern warships escorting these impeccable monoliths of Peonic naval history, innovation and cartography. The voyage was filled with historians, sailors, marine conservation societies, tourists, and holidaymakers capitalising on an "around the world" voyage.

The Peony herself went on one the flagship of the 2nd fleet for a week, to have meetings with some ocean conservationists, the historic naval society of The South Pacific, and the revered South Pacifican Cartographers society. Although she had to cancel a couple of her arrangements for an important one.

The CE gave the Peocracy the needed follow-up for their requested meeting, and The Peony understood the importance of meeting with the newly formed CE. Although it wasn't as important as meeting with the heads of states of her founders, it would be best to be acquainted with the CE and voice Peonic... opinions.

As she gazed longingly at the sea and the horizon off 20 degrees east and 60 degrees south of The South Pacific, a message popped up on her tablet, the CE secretary general has recently landed in the RPNV Sakura, which was a Jobu-Masako 10th Generation Nuclear Aircraft Carrier, and the modern pride of the Peonic navy. A helicopter has picked up the delegation and is moving to the treasure ship.

"How fitting," she thought, that after 600 years of the voyage, the pride of the Peonic navy sees its 600-year-old ancestor, with both a testament to Peonic influence over the waters of the planet. Passing of a torch, or a testament for the strength of an empire moulded by centuries of rich culture, history and effort that decorates the silk road it walks on.

But one thing is for sure, when the helicopter lands on the stern of Treasure ship in a temporary helipad, the newly appointed CE secretary general, and the Concordia Entente itself, will understand the importance of a Peonic partnership, if not a clientship. So The Peony stood, and moves out of the admiral's study, along with her guardians to the meeting spot.

No need for any ceremony, a one-on-one talk, on a table situated on the plaza of the treasure ship with its gigantic sails towering over it. The Peony was to meet the secretary general in person, before moving her for a cup of tea, coffee and a much needed discussion.

"And a needed discussion, they shall have," said The Peony, looking over a shadow of a helicopter approaching, with the winds blowing where the future shall be.
