Delegate Elections: Tsunamy earns another mandate

On other news, a tsunami has destroyed French Pancake City

The South Pacific- The second round of voting for Delegate has concluded.

Under the new system introduced by the new Charter, there would be two rounds for electing the Head of State: a Forum one, and a Gameside one, which will have the final say. The first(forum) round decides the two candidates for the next, second(gameside) round.

However, there were only two candidates in the first round, so no one was eliminated. Instead, the second round decided the outcome, and the percentage for candidate Tsunamy was higher than the previous vote(60% in the first, ~73% in the second)

Tsunamy, the incumbent delegate, won the election, receiving 102 of the 139 casted votes. His challenger, Feirmont, received only 37 of the votes.

Despite the recent Imgur Wave, the election still managed to have around ~20% of the eligible electorate voting. Another goal that was accomplished was the number of electors - more than the 100 the Government wanted.

This election is considered historic by some, as the Gameside, which since more than a decade never directly participated on anything political, now gets the final say on who the Delegate will be.

Broken Links: The South Pacific deteriorates relations with Balder and Osiris

South Pacificans celebrating the closure of relations with Osiris

Osiris, Balder, The South Pacific- The South Pacific has been hit by a streak of broken relations recently.

The South Pacific has cancelled it's treaty with Balder, citing that "there have been few inter-regional events, very little communication, and several instances of hostile comments from members of the Balder monarchy", including Queen Solorni's support for a recent coup in the region.

The dissolution of the treaty has been criticized as illegal, and even a Legal Question was submitted to the High Court to clarify where the authority to dissolve treaties lie: either the Cabinet or the Assembly. A number of bills are also being discussed in response to the alleged ambiguity.

Shortly after, Osiris cancelled their embassy with TSP, stating that "It has been evident for some time that Osiris and the South Pacific lack the shared values and common interests necessary to provide the foundation for a mutually beneficial diplomatic relationship. Moreover, the persistent dysfunction in the South Pacific's constitutional system has made clear that the South Pacific is not a reliable diplomatic partner". Some inside The South Pacific celebrated the closure, while others criticized it and the supporters of such diplomatic breakdown.
