2016 Peruvian Presidential Election |
A lot has happened since November. Toledo has zero chances of being elected, Keiko Fujimori is still leading with over 35% in all polls, and I'm no longer entirely opposed to Mendoza, mainly due to her position in favour of legalising abortion and same-sex marriage. Another change is the surge to César Acuña and Julio Guzmán over a month ago. There have been very convincing accusations that Acuña plagiarised entire pages in his doctoral thesis and published a book written by an old teacher of his, but placing himself as the sole author.
Recently it surfaced that the party convention that elected Guzmán as candidate hadn't followed proper procedure, and that Acuña gave away money to people at a campaign event. This morning the National Elections Jury ruled on those two accusations: http://www.theguardian.com/world/2016/ma...l-election. Former Delegate of the South Pacific
