Repeal of War Declarations
#21

But we don't need a war declaration to attack them. Like I said, war should be a last resort, not an excuse to attack regions, specially since the SPSF is explicitly granted the right to attack regions without a war declaration.

and that's great, but the war declaration in question was against the GGR specifically. Fighting Nazi-ism falls more along the lines of "the interests of TSP" rather than war against a region.

I know as MoA, I too felt like the GGR war declaration was important for the continued attacks on Nazism.

If we think that targeting GGR no longer makes sense, I think an official statement against regions that are Nazi governed would make sense.

We don't target the GGR and haven't done for a while now. I don't get why we need to have special arrangements to attack Nazi regions. War is not there to facilitate SPSF attacks. It is there as the last resort of our foreign policy, when continued and directed military action is required to achieve a certain purpose.

Happy to second this, as mentioned earlier as long as they are separated.

Declaration of War against Gatesville (REPEALED) 94.4%
Declaration of War against The Greater German Reich (REPEALED) 75%
Coalition against the Greater German Reich (NOT REPEALED) 55.5%

A last minute vote saved the Coalition against the Greater German Reich from being repealed, but I do wonder if a contradiction has arisen. It appears to me that the text of the Coalition against the Greater German Reich anticipates that TSP is at war with the Greater German Reich. Furthermore, the precedent is not a particularly nice precedent: it means we could circumvent needing a war declaration through an organisation with the explicit purpose of doing in practice everything we do against our enemies in war.

Likewise, if we are no longer at war with The GGR, I wonder if we are fulfilling our terms under the Coalition against the Greater German Reich??

On another note, I personally don't see the point of the Coalition -- is there any other region currently a member of the Coalition???

All questions I think the Assembly needs to mull over, because our current situation doesn't appear to make much sense - perhaps a product of the fractured approach that we took to voting on the repeals, but nonetheless, a paradoxical result.

I was confused by this too. While I don't think we should be pulling out of any coalitions, if we're the only member ...
