Short Explanation of the Historical Project
#11

Those that don't exist; for instance the Minister of Region.

I'm all about staring as early as we can find; and Ministries that didn't make it to this day.

Great Councils aren't a thing of the past, just to be clear. They can be summoned at any time, the only requirement is for a citizen to actually call one.

I do not participate in the regional server, but I am happy to talk through instant messaging or on the forum.

I was thinking maybe we could include past political parties and such as a part of TSP's cultural history as well.

#14

What would you mean by past political parties?

Also, would Great Councils be rare? I think if they are rare we could document the reasons why they were summoned and if they made a difference in the workings of TSP.

Political parties are rare I'm TSP. I don't think any of them has been successful, beyond a few days.

I know Great Councils were held on 2003, 2005/6/7 (?), 2012 and 2013. The last one finished around the time of Milo's coup. I don't know about most of them, but the last one did have a lasting effect on our legislation. It was vastly simplified, and since then we often use the argument of over legislation against many proposed bills. It would be good to interview Belschaft when we cover the 2013 GC, since he was an important figure during it, and is actually the one who convened it.

With that information, it may be in the best interest of the Historical Project if, at a later date, we could investigate these 'incidences' and record them.

In the interests of keeping things orderly, I'd like to suggest creating a thread for the various government positions/departments to avoid cluttering the assignment thread. A short report of your progress would be posted in the assignment thread, but the specifics of your progress in what your working on would go in the specified thread.

Also, with your approval Kris, I'd like the Index I suggested on page one to be made into it's own thread and pinned. It would be updated whenever lost historical info is found. As I surf through the archives, I'm finding new things to add and it would be nice to have a place where all this can be seen by everyone so they know just how big this project really is and how much progress is being made.

Another thing we need is info on the (I think it was Invision) server crash of 2006. When it happened, an estimate of how much was lost (i.e. January-March,) and how long it took to re-establish the governing body of TSP.
