3) Mitski- Bury Me at Makeout Creek (Indie Rock)

Lo-fi/ do it yourself records tend to be hit or miss and this is a TOTAL hit.  Besides being named after a great reference of the simpsons, this record I found to be both intimate and catchy.

2) Run the Jewels- Run the Jewels 2 (HIP HOP)

Run the Jewels 2 is a follow up album from NYC Rapper EL-P and Atlanta Rapper Killer Mike.  This album is by far the best hiphop album of the year, and DAMN is this album aggressive.  This is as close to rap music wrapped in a punk rock ethos as you can get.

1) Joyce Manor – Never Hungover Again (Pop Punk)

Who's ready for my album of the year!!!!!!??????

Let me say first that I am not too into pop punk as a genre, but this album is probably the most catchy rock album.  Songs are mostly really short, so they never overstay their welcome, but I dare you for them not to get stuck in your head.  That being said, this album also really stands out from other pop punk albums in recent memory.  At the end of the day, you just need to listen.

Yes the movie from Disney, I love the music and it really helps that Fallout Boy does the song "Immortals"
