I am pleased to appoint Awe as Project Director for Resident Spotlights and Meet the Government!

He will be tasked with overseeing the Resident Spotlight project so that we constantly have interesting interviews, and will also oversee the Meet the Government project, related to interviews with government officials and panels with citizens and other experts, to constantly examine and have interesting views about the Government.

He has proven to be very capable for this job during the latest election, and has already showed excellent leadership skills as a former Minister of Regional Affairs. I am sure he will do an excellent job.

Congratulations!
Former Delegate of the South Pacific

Whilst Awe is certainly an excellent candidate for such a role, I must question the distinction between a Director and Deputy Minister. Is it merely a cosmetic one, with a different name, or is there an actual substantive difference?

Deputy Ministers would usually be in charge of whole departments, meaning either the Communications and Integration Bureau, or the Cultural Development Bureau, each of which handles many different projects. Deputies would also be given junior access to the Cabinet Office.

Directors handle specific projects and have no access to the Cabinet Office. In this case, Awe is handling two projects: Resident Spotlight and Meet the Government.

I made the difference thinking that I would actually appoint Deputies at some point, but for now preferred to appoint or promote as needed, rather than trying to give someone a position just for the sake of it. Right now what the Ministry needs is Directors leading specific projects, since there are far too many for me to supervise directly.

I hope this answers your question!

I am also pleased to announce that Feirmont has been appointed to the Advisory Council!

Even though he is quite new to the region, he has shown extraordinary dedication and exhibits the traits of someone with a bright and promising future in the region. He has been an enthusiastic member of the Southern Journal and Historical Project staff, and I am sure he prove to be an invaluable voice in the Council.

As a member of the Advisory Council he will join Henn, Sopo and Llamas in discussing with me the organisation of the Ministry, the development of new projects and improvements to the activity and state of the region.

Congratulations!

Here goes one more promotion:

I am pleased to announce that Arbiter08 has been appointed Director for the Regional Games and Games Development!

He will oversee the organisation of the next edition of our Regional Games and will also be in charge of supervising the organisation of other kinds of games, including but not limited to Scavenger Hunts and World Census Elimination Contests. He was a great asset in the organisation of the previous Regional Games, and will no doubt do a great job in his new position.

Congratulations!
