I can understand the need to declare someone a Security Threat in light of a pending trial, immediate threats happen all the time in feeders. However, after the Court's have ruled someone innocent to still continue stripping a person of Citizenship? That just seems like an abuse.

how is it ripe for abuse? the entire cabinet has to vote that a citizen is a security threat. its not like there is 1 person in a dark room deciding who gets the axe. and i feel it needs to be stated, yet again for some reason, that the cabinet was not determining if Bels committed a crime or not, they have stated repeatedly that is for the courts to decide, but only if his actions during OBT and after, constituted a threat to the security of the region.

again innocence of a crime is not the same as being a threat to the security of the region.

To be clear, the cabinet is vested with the authority to declare someone a security threat to the region.

The court in TSP so far in function is responsible for answering legal questions.

It has yet to create a history of providing justice and there have been several attempts to reform the courts to be able to actually hear cases and have procedures and precedents to work from. This will hopefully happen in the near future as there seem to be interest and activity.

Just as the regional Delegate can ban people for hate crimes or abusive behavior on the RMB without the courts participating so to did majority of the South Pacific vote into law the power that was given to the cabinet so that they could address a major issue.

Back in the day Delegates in TSP used to hold votes in the assembly to determine whether or not someone should be banned. There were no court cases or hearings, just Majority Rule.

Yes, but now we need a super-majority of 3/4ths to undo the ruling of six people, who are also allowed to vote in the decision to reverse the ruling they just made. The Cabinet has a tendentious amount of power in that respect and not even the Court can reverse them.
