Socialism versus Capitalism

I prefer Medvedev. Putin has some sort of cult of personality forming in Russia.

Still, Socialism is the way to go.

Yeah, living here in NC. I can tell you for a fact that very, very few people will vote socialist. Or even democrat. A lot of people down here are not at all satisfied with the performance of Obama. Honestly, the only thing I care about it getting our economy and let's say infrastructure back up and running. You can't go into someone else's house and tell them how to do things if your house is a shit hole.

Indeed.

The problem we are facing is hyper-partisanism on the part of the Republicans. Since they're the majority in Congress and Congress is where we can really get a bill through to fix our infrastructure. They will vote no simply because the majority of the infrastructure is located in Democratic states, and they will not support any state that doesn't vote Republican.

To be honest, I think the government health care was better left as a concept, than when it was put into action here in the U.S. Not that I don't like the idea, but I don't think we honestly have the money to support a program like that. At least not until we catch up on our national debt, and we reach an economic boom. But as far as elections go I'll have to see who is running and what they stand for. I don't think I'll support the socialist on this one, just because of the economic stresses and how counterproductive his term will be due to opposition between him and Congress. Last thing we need is another gov't shut down.

Yeah, but next election year is a year for the Senate and the House of Reps. If the Democrats get in and take a majority in the House and start on the Senate, we may be able to get things done.

Get things that the Democrats want done you mean., how about interest that conservatives seem to support? One of my worries with an all one party house is whether rights will be stomped on or not. If Democrats take Congress, my gun rights could go away, or ammo becomes so ridiculously high that I can't afford it, if Republicans take Congress then my friend might not be able to marry her girlfriend. The best form of government is one made up of two parties who both can afford to compromise on things, while still backing up rights for the people who voted for them in the first place.

I'll never understand the obsession some Americans have with "gun rights".

Neither will I, and I'm moving directly into the heart of the "Gun State". The 2nd Amendment was never meant to be taken for citizens having the ability to keep the latest loaded weaponry with them at home. It was in case the military had failed in it's job to protect the people and they had to defend themselves.
