Socialism versus Capitalism
#1

Round 1. Let's keep a clean fight.

Discuss the merits of your side and the cons of the other side. I wonder who'll win?

Too early for me to be in the true socialist mind. You guys first.

Define socialism and capitalism. Depending on culture, especially socialism can have different meanings. For me, it is often communism vs capitalism (in the economical sense). Communism, of course, may also include other aspects of Soviet politics (for example).

I choose capitalism over socialism any time. I don't want the government telling me: "You can't own stuff, and we choose your house, etc." The people have the right to have property and your own business. I aint sharing my profits with the general public. Plus, what if the government goes into bankruptcy? It would affect everyone.

Furthermore, the idea of socialism is an utopia, it can never be fufilled in its entirety. The government gets extremely corrupt, and we all know how that goes.

So it's all right that you can have billions of pounds, be able to buy what ever you want however there will be children and adults out there who have no home, who can't even buy food let alone whatever they want? Is that corrupt? Is that fair?

I do see the need for a capitalist system however I believe in socialist methods to make sure the gap between the rich and poor is fair not too big but not too small.

The risk for corporate corruption is far greater in capitalist societies.

In socialism, the risk for a government bankruptcy is rather low given that a good deal of the populace is taxed, thus providing a great deal of money in addition to the expenses of the state.

I agree with Socialism over Capitalism. in a world ruled by money, Capitalism is a dangerous thing. The rich can use their vast wealth to manipulate government officials and the law. I like to think of it like this:

Socialism, Eat The Rich.
Capitalism, Eat The Poor.

Hence why a lot of poor people are socialists, with rich people capitalists.

The rich need to learn empathy.

But I prefer Capitalism. I don't want to work for the government. I don't want rations. I want my personal property. I want companies. Its supposed to be survival of the fittest in this world, and that's what capitalism is. Kinda.

Capitalism benefits the few at the expense of the many and honestly, how much stuff does a person need? Why have ten cars and a house bigger than a mall? Why not use that excess wealth to benefit the community?
