Tulsi Gabbard is the solution.

Edit: Plus, the Democrats have done it before, and it was a 20 year period of dominance (1933–1953). I mean, you could say that it was because of the Great Depression and WWII that kept them in power, but still.

Yes but I mean in modern day politics it is really uncommon. It was very common 1945 and back but since then only Regan and Bush have done it. I mean it should have been twice but we don't talk about 2000. As for Democrats this would be the first time one Dem has succeeded another since 1857 I believe though I could be wrong.

No they are not. A third party has to offer something the two main parties do not, and since most countries have one right wing party and one left wing party a third party will always be a more radical and extreme choice. Unless you are more left or right wing than most people one of the main two will be the best choice for you.
Both our major parties are right wing, we only really have one left wing third party, and the rest are right wing (most more central, maybe two extreme right like the alt right)

Wait uh.. sorry what does that mean?

You know, not everybody will agree, but I'm glad that the US still has another two months after election day to calm down and relax. I know not everybody will enjoy it, but I think most can agree it's better than either Trump or Clinton.

Why do I even bother pretending the world is getting better?

Yeah, absolute worst case scenario. Trump presidency, Republican majority in House and Senate.

Let me say, I've completely lost my faith in humanity. If the United States can elect a racist, sexist, egotistical megalomaniac, who never offered any real solutions to problems besides building a giant wall, and consistently proved to be a pathological liar, as President, then yeah, the world is fucked.

I agree. Especially with a Republican Congress.

At least if Democrats controlled Congress they might be able to stand up to Trump. But no, we're all screwed.

It's the damn Electoral College. If it was about the national popular vote and only the national popular vote, Al Gore and Hillary Clinton would have been President. It's a disaster. China and Russia are going to nuke America to kingdom come.
