As much as I prefer Bernie, I'd rather have either Democrat over any of the Republican candidates.

Kasich isn't that bad. As a European social-democrat I'd obviously prefer you guys elect a democrat, but Kasich is someone sane people could live with.

Kasich isn't too bad relative to Trump, Cruz and most of the GOP, I'll grant you that. But I'd still vastly prefer a Democrat, both in the White House and in Congress. It's not just about having someone as commander in chief, it's also about them being able to pass needed reforms without the mess Obama has faced throughout his two terms.
