Do you know the term "friendzone"? Well, I'm in one, and it fucking sucks. There is this girl at school, a really close friend of mine, that I like. I haven't told her or anything, but it's very clear that she is not interested. Besides, even if I had the nerve to speak up (I don't), she has a boyfriend, so I'm afraid things may get awkward if I say anything.

I'm trying to forget about it all, but it's hard as hell.

Sorry to hear that. I've been there too. In fact, before I met the girl who is now my wife I wasn't ever anywhere else. It is awful and it hurts like hell and there isn't really a cure except to get over it and, sadly, that takes time, but it does get better. Hang in there.

Huh. That's why I never even think about romantic relationships (is that the correct term? I'm not sure), just the existence of friends is a wonder large enough for me.
Don't worry though, things like this always get sorted out, eventually. Give it some time, that's all.

That's a good attitude to have. It's always good to be thankful for what you do have.

Unfortunately the battle between the mind and the emotions (or even the hormones) can be a very difficult one to win for some people. It certainly took me a long time to accept being single. In many ways I was lucky (well I believe it was an answer to prayer) in that I met my wife almost immediately after I came to terms with my single status.

Perhaps there is something to the idea that the best way to find something is to stop looking.

Dude, pull yourself together, deal with it, and go get someone else.

There are worse moments and frankly this is not the time to weep.

To be honest I'm not a big drinker (of rum or iced tea, lol).

EDIT: Although , as you see, I can join in to commiserate.

Like I said elsewhere, I don't drink IRL. But being drunk is a requirement in TSP. Tounge
