Indeed. I mean, I do believe it's time to go beyond an individual's selfish personal ambitions, and consider in the grander scheme of things, how to act in the best interests of the community.

I think that is a very generic thing to say. Who determines what is in the best interests of the community? Obviously everyone here things they are acting according to what is best, so it's not a thing of people being selfish. It's a thing of different people disagreeing on what is best for the region, and how to achieve it.

I mean, I could explain where that philosophy comes from in greater depth, but it involves a lot of Chinese, so I'd leave it that

Yes, but in the end it all comes down to how that affects us in practice. We all want what is best for the community, so it is not as simple as saying we should stop being selfish, because that is often not the case.
