Regional Updates
#11

If anyone has anything in particular they would like included in our next update please post it here. I will be preparing an update over the next few days for release early next week.

The Local Council is one of our more unique elected positions, why not have a brief blurb on what they do? Now might not be the best time since what they do could very well change with this Great Council though.

Because they haven't done anything.
Former Delegate of the South Pacific
Posts outside High Court venues should be taken as those of any other legislator.
I do not participate in the regional server, but I am happy to talk through instant messaging or on the forum.

Please include the promotions of Alisa and Hammerstar in the update. Both of them deserve recognition.

Special Forces Announce Promotions
Minister Siberian announced two promotions in the South Pacific Special Forces.  Alisa has been promoted to Solda Met (Master Soldier) getting praises for timekeeping and quick responses.  Hammerstar becomes Despite (Deputy Minister) and now second highest ranking member of the Special Forces.  Both promotions come to citizens who are beginning to build for a great future in the region.

Great Council Coming to Close in Flames
Discussion in the Great Council had indeed moved along slowly.  It is the nature of the beast when there were mixed feelings about the necessity of one.  Some members of the South Pacific stood against the idea of one which ultimately led to the call for a end to the almost month long event.  Sandaoguo and Farengeto have been the center of the argument.  Farengeto calling for an end to the Council and Sandaoguo wishing to extend it indefinitely to accommodate real life schedules.  The two first disagreed on the Council when a forum that was rarely used was deleted when Sandaoguo created the Great Council forums.  Voting is set to begin soon on proposals to move the Chair of the Assembly out of the Cabinet and Judicial Reform.

Elections Season Approaches
(This Section References Content from a Media Outlet that does not represent the views of the South Pacific Ministry of Foreign Affairs)

It is that time again in the South Pacific.  Elections are set to begin on November 15th.  Below are the predictions released by SPINN earlier today.

Delegate:  Farengeto, cited as politically motivated
Chair of the Assembly:  Farengeto if not running for Delegate.  If Farengeto runs for Delegate then a newer member will likely get the nod
Foreign Affairs:  Hileville, likely to run for re-election
Regional Affairs:  Kringalia
Army:  Unknown.  Siberian (current Minister) Hammerstar, and Resentine were listed as possible candidates.

The Southern Journal has been conducting polls on the upcoming elections.  No content from the polls have been released.

Foreign Service Program Changing
After a short time of being back in the spotlight the Foreign Service Program faces changes.  Minister Hileville announced that the Foreign Service Program would undergo changes with the goal of sustainability in mind.  The new system will leave foreign updates to be distributed by the Minister of Foreign Affairs or a Deputy Minister.  The new Foreign Service Program will be modeled after the work of Arbiter in Spiritus as Envoy.  Focusing more on getting to know the region the Envoy is assigned in rather than mandatory clerical duties.
