More people will die in car accidents in the next two weeks than in the Paris attacks.
That said, it's a horrible tragedy. But we shouldn't overreact.

That's not nice to know. But I don't think we're overreacting.

The top officials in France have called for a three month extension of the state of emergency. Conservative Americans have begun pushing for legislature that would severely limit the number of Syrian refugees and many state governors have declared that they will refuse to take them, seemingly unaware of the fact that the attack was planned and perpetrated by French and Belgian residents with ISIS connections. The old internet surveillance debate has been restarted despite the fact that we're still unclear as to how the terrorists communicated.
So yeah, I'd say we're overreacting a bit, and especially since no one seems to give a rat's ass about the Beirut attacks (at least, that's the message you'd get from the media and the politicians).

Not that I agree with that, but they may be French and Belgian residents now, but where do you think they came from originally?
