We barely get enough people running as it is, so creating too many which need helpers as well as the minister is stretching it. I do understand we have 5000 players, but many disregard our forums and running for positions or working in ministries.

I certainly understand the difference in environment however I should also point out that a group of hyperactive, immature and some times even troubled teenagers made up at least 80 percent of the school population. So, we have a similar situation here. A minority  of the population participates. If we find that there is a shortage of dedicated candidates (though I'm sure there are enough members who would be thrilled to run) then it may be wise to try to 'sell' (for lack of a better word) political involvement to member states. Encourage participation in any way possible. Lots of people have views they wish to express and skills we could capitalise on. They are either unaware of the opportunity, or perhaps unsure of their campaign abilities (many people at the school opted out of running for that reason). It's a different environment and a different government but I believe that many of the same basic ideas and still apply. Regardless, I think we could fill all the positions. Politically minded people tend to be In the minority, but that minority is alot larger than it looks at first glance. It's all about finding the people who would do well, and would be interested, but don't know or haven't paid much attention in the past. Those experiences have applyed too more councils and legislatures then just my SRC I promise you that Smile

I felt you just skirted the issue and disregarded what I said. We haven't and won't get many people to join the forums if they don't want to. All of them have the opportunity but like Rhino said, majority of Nationstates players just log on to answer issues. There is a very small amount of people in GCRs who want to get into politics or positions, I suspect you are one of them (not a bad thing). It is just many don't really understand the concept of politics and stay away for that reason. The only way we could get them involved is 1. They are motivated and 2. Something like a mentor ship program starts. I have been here for a while and I can clearly see majority of TSP's population don't give a damn.

I can not back this as it's suicidal. Each Ministry will have too little power to do anything and we will not get enough people running for the job that have the experience to do the job. And I point to our current Minister to prove that. He had just two months experience and nothing has happened in the Ministry, if we have three different Ministries all with limited powers they will not be active and noting will happen.

Take your personal issues with each other to PM's please.

None of the Ministries under the proposed structure have a shortage of areas they will be leading up. The current RA Ministry has operated several sub-Ministries to better split up the responsibilities already. This change formalized that and will allow for a better focus on what matters to each Ministry. By making these changes we will allow for better performance and products coming from each Ministry.

Again stop with the we won't get enough people to run argument. That isn't at all an accurate statement. That same argument was used when we wanted to add MoRA.

When?
Also you can't just ask people to stop using a perfectly legitimate and possible argument because you have your own opinion. I have seen it happen already with the one ministry, so there is that chance of recurring events.

MoRA typically staffs 2-3 deputies/project leads for various areas that are being split up. MoRA has ballooned and grown exponentially since it was added several years ago. We can't keep expecting one person to lead a Ministry that is so involved in too many different areas of TSP.

I can ask people to stop using that argument for a couple different regions. It has been proven wrong already. The same argument was used against MoRA being added. Yet we haven't had someone not run for MoRA or any Cabinet position in several years.

We can't keep saying we aren't active enough but shooting down attempts to better position us for increased activity.

All you have said is that we have only scraped it the whole time with only one member.

Hileville your argument contradicts itself. You claim that we will have enough people to run three separate Ministries yet you also say we don't have enough people to run Regional Affairs as it is! Yes Regional Affairs does have many Deputies however I think there are people who are happy to be a RA deputy but they would not want to be Minister.
