(OOC Discussion) Indigenous Peoples of the Western Contintent
#21

We would need to list out the indigenous that existed before. To my knowledge, there are way more indigenous communities in TSP. Ubesii and Bonaugure I believe have their own humanoid creatures, TSL have their own humanoid sentients? Wasn't there an agreement that the Homo Livi are actually permitted, since they are all, idk... EXTINCT? No one seems to make a fuss about it in the 'Story of Hammerstar' at the cantina, so why now?

If you'd like to however, there'll be one sentient being. Humans. Now the matter on wether you'd like their hairs to be white/blue/gray is up to ya.

In Hammerstar. There's basically three types of Humans. Southerner, Westerner and Easterner

Southerners look like eastern caucasians. Their faces are like Turkish/Italian/Jordanian people.
Westerners look mostly African and Bedouin.
Easterners look like Tibetan Mongols, some look like Japanese and Koreans however.

I've kinda been deliberately vague on that one so as to avoid any accidental racism (and it's one of the reasons I've avoided using photos), but much of their history and culture is (very loosely) inspired by pre-Columbian civilisations like the Maya, Inca and Tiwanaku, so, broadly speaking they ought to resemble the indigenous peoples of Meso- and South America.

I hope that's not too vague.

May I (politely) ask you to clarify what you mean by that? Do you mean that they are yours in the sense that you don't want anyone else interfering with their history (which is perfectly understandable, by the way - this thread isn't about interfering, just co-operating on history for those who wish to), that they are a unique people group, or something else?

Sure, the Southwest Continent should be included. It doesn't seem unlikely that there may have been contact between people groups on both continents prior to colonial powers arriving (although the predecessors of Karnetvor arrive in that part of the world very early, if I recall).

Unique group. Sure, there has been interactions in the past and mixed children but their origins are not related to other indigenous groups.

It would be interesting to see if they have any relation with Tolsians.

I figured both Puerto Pollo and Bruuman indigenous were akin to Central and South American natives, in particular Arawak and Caribe populations.  I will possibly detail them further in a dedicated post, as soon as I find the time to. Bruuman contemporary population is composed of descendant of black slaves, while Puerto Polloan are a mix of the indigenous and of the white colonists. In my canon, the colonists and the slaves they were coming from real Europe and Africa, but for RP I keep their origin deliberatly vague.

Descendants of slaves ;-)
The white colonists, which took control of the island in 1666, brought them as a workforce in substitution of the natives (who had been wiped out by 1721) until 1838, when slavery was abolished. The white population left en masse after independence in 1956.

If you want to try and reconcile it into a more TSP-friendly canon there's always imperialism from your friendly neighbour Farengeto. Tounge
