Seriously, Zak, what would you like me to do? I made a light hearted joke thinking you would clarify.

When it was apparent that you took offense at the joke, I asked you in polite terms to explain.

What parts of Rach's statement do you think is "fair"? And why? Do you think we have weak systems? Do you think we're corrupt? I ask these things because I want to know.

If it was that a statement on Rach's view and you're not endorsing them, fine. I'm literally begging you at this point to tell me what you mean.

Full support for this plug being pulled. If Balder's Sovereign is publicly making statement like that against The South Pacific, there is really no value in continuing such a treaty. It certainly doesn't seem to exist in Solorni's eyes anymore.

Because TSP's people angrily jump to conclusions following a sarcastic remark, and then spend a page refusing to actually clarify what they meant by Balder raising a "fair point"? I too would really like to know what Balder's "fair point" from this whole speech is?

Solorni should have thought about what she was putting at risk before she said that, and in no way do I wish to condone her actions, but I don't think that we should pull the plug here without at least looking into this a bit more. Setting up a meeting with Balder's Minister of Foreign Affairs (OnderKelkia) would be a wise decision before we jump the gun on this whole debacle. Although Balder's government is similar to TSPs in which the delegate serves as a figurehead, doesn't justify her actions and words, but also doesn't mean that their government doesn't support this treaty. If she was involved in the drafting of the treaty, I do not know, but what I do know is that the Storting (legislature) of Balder did pass this treaty with an almost unanimous vote (8 voting for, 1 abstaining) in 2012, and unless Balder's intentions with the treaty have changed since then, I don't think there is a reason to jump the gun.

Like I said, it wouldn't hurt to sit down with Fake (Statsminister of Balder) and Onder (Minister of FA) and have a little chat about this.

TSP also passed the treaty with only one abstention and no Nay votes - but that was 5 years ago, during a time when TSP was very much dabbling in the indy-sphere. TSP has evolved beyond that, Balder has stuck to it, so that commonality no longer exists.

Furthermore, Balder refused to even release a statement during the Hileville coup in January 2016, thereby breaking the treaty which would have obligated Balder to oppose the TGSP in favor of the Coalition. Instead, Rach/Solorni was socializing/drama-touristing on the TGSP forums, praising the hostile takeover of the oldest extant democratic government in NationStates.

So here we are, over a year after TGSP. A year that has been an ice cold relationship, even more so than it was before. Many of the shared values that may have justified a treaty then are no longer shared, and it remains that the treaty was broken by Balder. What is there to salvage by talking to Onder or Fake?
