August 2017 APCRC Special Election
#11

Continuing Griff's point, I don't see any reason to try and push for a treaty with NPO right now. Seems rather out of the blue to me - I don't recall any festivals we've held with them, nor significant military operations with them, and from an ideological standpoint I'd be hard pressed to find a worse choice (let's be real, Balder doesn't count at present).

Drall for APCRC Member!

Hey all! Most of you know me, but for those who don't, I'm Drall. I'm currently a member of the LC, meaning I tend to be very active gameside, in addition to the usually activity of any good legislator forumside. I fall into what could probably be seen as the more vocal minority in regards to TSP politics - as I'm sure you've noticed :p I joined the APC shortly after I came to TSP, and while I think we've been doing great (Congratulations on your terms so far to all the APCRC members!), there are a couple things I'd like to improve, both within the party and in areas where we, as a party, can focus our efforts on improving certain things in TSP. So, without further ado, here are my main goals.

1. If elected, I'd like to push strongly for an amendment to the party rules and regulations to allow the APCRC to deny admittance to the party by majority vote. Pretty simple amendment, and frankly something that we as a party should have. Naturally, this wouldn't be something oft used, but rather a valuable mechanic to have in certain circumstances.

2. In regards to legislation, I'd like to move for a few nice reforms, firstly to the Courts, along with the CRS. The legislation governing both is more than a little tangled. Mandatory reconfirmations every so often, something brought up a little while ago by Belschaft, is certainly something I think ought to be reconsidered.

3. Committees! A wonderful project of the current APCRC, which has a lot of potential but sadly hasn't taken off the way we've all hoped. I fully support the continuation and expansion of these, and I think there are a lot of great ways we can do this. My particular favorite is my next goal...

4. As always, with a forumside and a gameside, there's a bit of a disjunct between the two. An unfortunate gap, always threatening to divide our community. As an organization, the APC has a fair number of players who are active gameside. However, there's a whole load of players there who aren't involved forumside, but who are active and interested. Therefore, I propose to create a branch of the APC that would consist of players who are primarily focused gameside - mostly those who do not hold legislator status. There's a whole element of individuals who have potential and make up a vast part of the voter base in both Delegate and Local Council elections - and element which we ought to capitalize on.

There you are. Please ask me any questions you like, though one's about my campaign are a bit more suitable! Thank you!

Yours,
Drall

I'm def. in the "try out an event and see how people mix" before treaties camp. So maybe I should plan an event so we can know better Smile

Totes want to run a Game of Thrones event!

I'd nominate katie\rikuchar for Member.

I have a few questions on this from an FA standpoint, but this isn't really the place.

So down!!!

Since katie isn't a legislator, she's technically not a member of the party right now. So no, you don't nominate her.

In response to the question, a treaty with NPO would be helpful for military reasons. Sometimes, NPO is offensive with their military, and all of our militarily offense with LILY is pathetic. We shouldn't be working with UCR militaries more than needed.

Why should we preference working with GCRs, such as the NPO, over working with UCRs, such as Lily?

LILY is pathetic now? Sure, NPO raids and defends - and so do other organizations. It's also entirely possible to raid with raid-focused orgs and fend with fend-focused orgs. I'm not seeing anything unique NPO has to offer militarily, aside from their "large numbers of updaters and reserves" which really aren't well proven to exist and don't matter for the vast majority of SPSF's military action, tagging and detagging.

Personally, I'd rather see the military opt to work more closely and on large endeavours with our closer allies, TNP and Europeia. I don't actually know how much we have been working with them or are planning to (not a military guy), but this is certainly a direction I'd rather pursue.

I'm not really into attack ad campaigning, but I'd like to point out something about Drall.

Drall doesn't stand with TSP!
With regular comments against the stance taken by Prime Minister @Roavin on the rmb and Discord Drall has shown he DOES NOT STAND WITH THE COALITION! Drall has been in support of Funkadelia instead of the legitimately elected government.

Yet that's exactly what you decided to do, pal.

Yeah, that's true. I don't support the so-called Lazerene resistance and do support the legitimate Dominion, of which Funk is king. Hardly anything newsworthy here, I've openly voiced my opinions time and time again. It's also worth noting that as a Citizen of the Coalition, I have the right to free speech. I have the right to dissent. I have the right to disagree with official Cabinet statement, be it in public or in private.

It's perfectly acceptable for you to disagree with me, but I take objection with your insinuation that I'm here to do anything but put my best effort into TSP. So far, I've poured my best efforts into my duties, both in the Local Council and in the Assembly. That's all I'm asking for you all to let me do - put my best efforts into the APCRC. As I mentioned earlier in my campaign platform, I have a number of plans and ideas, things that we can do both within the party, and without. Please feel free to ask any questions about how exactly I'd like to reform the courts and CRS, improve committees, amend our own party Charter, work with gameside elements as a party, or anything else you'd like!
