THE SERIOUS PAPER

Prime Minister Lacks a Lampshade

Government Island. A great outcry follows the revelation by Prime Minister Ro Avin that he does not wear a lampshade. When unveiling his official government portrait tonight, the Prime Minister faced questions regarding the lack of a lampshade on his head. His response was "I didn't have one nearby".

Though no political leaders have spoken regarding this revelation, criticism has not been scant. L. Amp, President of the Association of Lampshade Producers, issued a statement saying that "the Prime Minister shows a concerning lack of consideration towards our signature item". Fro Sty, Bishop of the Church of Cake, issued a statement of his own. While the Bishop refrained from outright condemning the Prime Minister, the statement did express concern over "the treatment of cake and other desserts, if even lampshades are ignored".

When questioned about his South Pacifican credentials, the Prime Minister insisted that he was a South Pacifican, before storming out of the room, saying he had an update to attend to. Members of the press were urged to leave the 3112 Lampshade Street, the official residence of the Prime Minister, shortly after.
