[RELEASED] Proposed Amendment to the Charter of the APC-1/4/18
#1

In anticipation of not enough candidates running for the party elections, and/or any future occurrence where the election does not have enough candidates, I propose that the incoming APCRC be allowed to call for a special election if two or more candidates are needed, and allow the APCRC to appoint a candidate if there is only one position open.

The text as follows:

In the event that following an APCRC election, there are not enough elected officials to fill all the seats, the process will be as follows:
If two or more seats need to be filled, then a special election for the open positions will commence following the swearing in of the new APCRC.
If it is only one seat that needs to be filled, then the current chair, with the advice and consent of the rest of the APCRC will appoint a replacement.
In the event that the Chair's position is vacant following an election, the previous chair will serve as an interim chair until the immediately commenced election concludes.

I quite like this idea. At least we would then be able to provide a way for another election to occur, in the case that we don't have enough people in the election, which seems we could have it that way this time. Full support!

I like this. Common sense and simple. One note though, say that a Chair Election will commence immediately after the swearing in of new members if the position is vacant.
Above all else, I hope to be a decent person.

Made a couple of minor edits.

Generally a good thing to have in place. Solid work!

All right, then we can motion and second this at any time if no one has anything else to add.

I'd rather wait a day or so for anyone else to add their input.
